Card Rulings:Cockroach Knight
OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Cockroach Knight" is a Trigger Effect that activates in the Graveyard. (The effect does not target. It always activates if "Cockroach Knight" is sent to the Graveyard. It also activates during the Damage Step.)[1]
- The effect also activates if this card is sent from the hand or Deck to the Graveyard, not just from the field.[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. Mentions in other Rulings
- Exchange of the Spirit: "Exchange of the Spirit" does not "send" cards to the Graveyard; it swaps the cards in your Deck with those in your Graveyard. So the effects of cards like "Penguin Knight", "Cockroach Knight", or "Archfiend of Gilfer" will not activate, nor would the effect of "Skull Invitation" deal any damage. If "Banisher of the Light" is on the field no cards will become removed from play because they are not being sent to the Graveyard.
- Revived King Ha Des: If "Revived King Ha Des" or another Zombie-Type monster you control destroys... "Cockroach Knight"... by battle, when their effects are activated they will be negated.
- Vampire Lord: Card effects like ... "Cockroach Knight" will activate their effects when sent to the Graveyard by "Vampire Lord's" effect.
