OCG Rulings

  • This card targets 1 "Decode Talker" in your Monster Zone.[1]
  • Each "●" can be applied depending on the number of monsters the targeted "Decode Talker" points to.[1]
  • The "● 1+" effect does not start a Chain. (When resolving this card, the targeted monster gains 500 ATK for each monster is currently points to.)[1]
  • The "● 2+" effect does not start a Chain.[1]
  • The "● 3" effect starts a Chain. (It does not target.)[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: If a "Decode Talker" that the "● 2+" effect of "Decode Destruction" was applied to destroys "Predaplant Sarraceniant" by battle, that "Predaplant Sarraceniant" is banished immediately after damage calculation. In that case, the effect of "Predaplant Sarraceniant" that destroys the opponent's monster cannot be activated, and since the banished "Predaplant Sarraceniant" is not treated as being destroyed by battle, its effect that adds a "Predap" card from the Deck to the hand also cannot be activated.[2]
A: Even if "Decode Talker" battles a monster with the same ATK and both are destroyed, the "● 2+" effect of "Decode Destruction" is applied and the opponent's monster is banished after damage calculation. Furthermore, you can also activate the "● 3" effect of "Decode Destruction" and destroy all cards on your opponent's field.[3]
  • Q: "Imperial Iron Wall" is face-up in my opponent's Spell & Trap Zone, and its effect that prevents players from banishing cards is applying. In this situation, can I activate "Decode Destruction" targeting my "Decode Talker" that is pointing to 3 monsters?
A: You can activate "Decode Destruction" even if the effect of "Imperial Iron Wall" is applying. In that case, all 3 "●" effects will be applied when it resolves. When that "Decode Talker" destroys an opponent's monster by battle and the "● 2+" effect is applied, the opponent's monster is not banished due to the effect of "Imperial Iron Wall". However, the "● 3" effect will still activate afterward and destroy all cards on your opponent's field, including the monster that could not be banished by the "● 2+" effect.[4][5]
