Card Rulings:Dillingerous Dragon
OCG Rulings
- This card's effect that destroys an opponent's monster during the End Phase is a Trigger Effect.[1]
- This effect targets 1 face-up Attack Position monster in your opponent's Monster Zone that did not declare an attack this turn.[1]
- Destroying the targeted monster and inflicting damage to your opponent happen simultaneously.[1]
- This card's effect that Special Summons it from your GY is a Trigger Effect that activates in the GY. (It does not target, and it cannot be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]
- Banishing this card that was Special Summoned by its own effect does not start a Chain. (This effect is also applied during the Damage Step.)[1]
Q&A Rulings
- Q: During this turn, my opponent declared an attack with "Firewall eXceed Dragon", but the attack was negated by my "Magic Cylinder". During the End Phase, can I activate the effect of "Dillingerous Dragon" targeting that "Firewall eXceed Dragon"?
- A: In this scenario, although your opponent's "Firewall eXceed Dragon"'s attack was negated by "Magic Cylinder", the attack was still declared. Therefore, that "Firewall eXceed Dragon" cannot be targeted with the effect of "Dillingerous Dragon".[2][3]
- Q: A "Dillingerous Dragon" and "Iron Dragon Tiamaton", both Special Summoned by their own effects, are face-up in my Monster Zone. In this situation, can I activate "Hypernova Burst" by banishing those 2 monsters?
- A: "Dillingerous Dragon" is a Link Monster, so it is a monster that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set, but one that was Special Summoned by its own effect will be banished face-up when it leaves the field, and cannot be banished face-down. Therefore, you cannot banish a "Dillingerous Dragon" that was Special Summoned by its own effect as the cost to activate "Hypernova Burst".[4][5]
