OCG Rulings

  • The effect of this card that Special Summons it from your hand is an Ignition Effect that activates in your hand. (It does not target. Revealing a “Photon” monster in your hand is the cost to activate this effect.)[1]
  • The effect resolves by Special Summoning this card from your hand. (Changing this card’s Level is part of the same effect and is applied immediately.)[1]
  • The effect of this card that changes its ATK/DEF is a Trigger Effect. (It targets 1 “Galaxy” monster in your Graveyard.)[1]
  • This effect can be activated optionally when this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned face-up to your Monster Zone. (It can be activated during the Damage Step.)[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: When you reveal a "Photon" monster in your hand to activate the effect of "Galaxy Brave", you can choose "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon". In that case, since "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" is Level 8, the Level of the Special Summoned "Galaxy Brave" does not change.[2]
  • Q: My opponent's "Evilswarm Ophion" with Xyz Material is face-up in the Extra Monster Zone. In this situation, can I activate the effect of "Galaxy Brave" that Special Summons it from my hand?
A: In this scenario, you cannot Special Summon Level 5 or higher monsters due to the effect of "Evilswarm Ophion". Since "Galaxy Brave" is a Level 8 monster in your hand, you cannot activate its effect while the effect of "Evilswarm Ophion" is applying.[3]
A: Even if the “Photon” monster you revealed is no longer in your hand when resolving the effect of "Galaxy Brave", the effect is applied normally. In this scenario, since the revealed "Photon Vanisher" was Level 4, "Galaxy Brave" is Special Summoned and becomes Level 4.[4]
  • Q: When activating the effect of "Galaxy Brave" that makes its ATK/DEF become the same as the ATK/DEF of a "Galaxy" monster in my Graveyard, can I target a "Galaxy-Eyes Solflare Dragon" in my Graveyard?
A: The effect of "Galaxy Brave" that activates when it is Normal or Special Summoned changes its ATK/DEF to be the same as the ATK/DEF of the targeted monster, so you cannot target a Link Monster in your Graveyard such as "Galaxy-Eyes Solflare Dragon", which has no DEF.[5]
A: In this scenario, if the monster targeted by the effect of "Galaxy Brave" is no longer in your Graveyard when the effect resolves, the effect is not applied. (The ATK/DEF of Galaxy Brave both remain 0.)[6]
