OCG Rulings
- [Regarding the effect "Destroy 1 "Memento" monster in your hand or face-up field, and if you do, take 1 "Memento" monster with a different name from your Deck, and either add it to your hand or Special Summon it in Defense Position."[1]
- It is the effect applied when this card's activation resolves.
- It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
- When resolving this effect, destroy 1 "Memento" monster in your hand or face-up field, and if it is successfully destroyed, choose 1 "Memento" monster with a different name from your Deck and either add it to your hand or Special Summon it.
- You must choose a monster to destroy from among the monsters in your hand or face-up field that would allow you to choose a monster in your Deck with a different name. If there are no such monsters to choose when the effect resolves (i.e. there are no suitable combinations of monsters in your hand or face-up field and in your Deck), the effect is not applied.
- Destroying a monster from your hand or face-up field and adding a monster from your Deck to your hand or Special Summoning it occur simultaneously.
- [Regarding the effect "During your Main Phase: You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 "Memento" monster you control; if it attacks a Defense Position monster this turn, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent."[1]
- It starts a Chain and can be activated in the GY.
- It is a Spell Speed 1 effect.
- It cannot be activated in situations where you cannot proceed to your Battle Phase this turn, such as during the first turn of the Duel, during a turn you cannot conduct your Battle Phase due to a card effect or condition, or during your Main Phase 2.
