OCG Rulings

• You can activate just the card itself, or activate its second effect as the same Chain Link as the card's activation.
  • When activating just the card itself, there are no activation requirements. However, it cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
  • If the conditions for activating the second effect have been met, the second effect can be activated as the same Chain Link as the card's activation. However, it still cannot be activated during the Damage Step.

• [Regarding the effect "While you control a "Memento" monster, your opponent's monsters that can attack must attack the "Memento" monster you control with the highest ATK (your choice, if tied)."
  • It does not start a Chain and applies while this card is face-up in the Spell & Trap Zone.
  • This effect is applied to your opponent's monsters that can attack. (Monsters that can attack directly must still attack your "Memento" monster with the highest ATK.)

• [Regarding the effect "When your opponent activates a monster effect on the field: You can target 1 "Mementoal Tecuhtlica - Combined Creation" you control; it loses exactly 1000 ATK/DEF, and if it does, negate that activated effect."
  • It starts a Chain and can be activated while this card is face-up in the Spell & Trap Zone.
  • When your opponent activates a monster effect on the field, it can be activated by chaining directly to that activation.
  • It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
  • When activating this effect, target 1 "Mementoal Tecuhtlica - Combined Creation" in your Monster Zone that has 1000 or more ATK and DEF.
  • When resolving this effect, if both the ATK and DEF of the targeted monster are 1000 or more, it loses 1000 ATK/DEF. If it successfully loses ATK/DEF, negate the activated effect.
  • If either or both of the targeted monster's ATK and DEF are less than 1000 when the effect resolves, the effect is not applied. (It does not lose any ATK/DEF, and the activated effect is not negated.)
