Q&A Rulings

A: In this scenario, if the effect of "Skill Drain" is applied and the effects of "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" are negated, its ATK returns to 2000. Even if the effect of "Skill Drain" stops applying after that, it does not regain the lost ATK.[1]
A: If a monster that "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" points to is flipped face-up by an attack, the timing to activate the effect of "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" will be after damage calculation.[2]
A: If the Flip Summon of a monster that "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" points to is negated by "Solemn Judgment", the effect of "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" will not activate.[3]
A: In this scenario, the targeted "Subterror Behemoth Umastryx" was flipped face-up by the effect of "Acid Trap Hole", and then returned to face-down Defense Position. Even so, the effect of "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" that adds a Flip monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand will activate.[4]
A: In this scenario, if "Subterror" monsters used as materials for the Link Summon are banished instead of sent to the Graveyard, "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" gains ATK equal to their combined original Levels × 100 as usual. (In this scenario, "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" will have 4000 ATK.)[5]
  • Q: "Macro Cosmos" is face-up in my opponent's Spell & Trap Zone. In this situation, if I activate the effect of "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" that sends a Flip monster from my Deck to the Graveyard and Special Summons a monster from my hand in face-down Defense Position, what happens?
A: In this scenario, the Flip monster chosen from your Deck will be banished due to the effect of "Macro Cosmos", instead of sent to the Graveyard. In that case, you cannot Special Summon a monster from your hand.[6]
  • Q: When resolving the effect of "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" that Special Summons a monster from my hand in face-down Defense Position, do I have to show that monster to my opponent?
A: The effect of "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" allows you to Special Summon any monster from your hand in face-down Defense Position. It is not an effect that Special Summons monsters with a certain name, etc., so you do not have to show your opponent.[7]
A: When resolving the effect of "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess", if that "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" is no longer on the field, you still send a Flip monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, but it is not possible to apply the part of the effect that Special Summons a monster to a Main Monster Zone that "Subterror Behemoth Fiendess" points to.[8]
