Card Rulings:Yami
OCG Rulings
- The effect of "Yami" that increases monsters' ATK and DEF does not start a Chain Link.[1]
- The effect of "Yami" that decreases monsters' ATK and DEF does not start a Chain Link.[1]
- This card's effects that increase ATK and DEF, as well as decrease ATK and DEF, are applied not only to the face-up monsters in your Monster Zone, but also to those in your opponent's Monster Zone.[1]
- If "Yami" is face-up in each player's Field Zone, each of their effects is applied. (All face-up Fiend and Spellcaster-Type monsters in both players' Monster Zones would gain 400 ATK/DEF, while all face-up Fairy-Type monsters in both players' Monster Zones would lose 400 ATK/DEF.)[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. Mentions in Other Rulings
- Last Will: You can Special Summon a 1500 ATK monster that will have higher than 1500 ATK after being Summoned, such as a Fiend with 1500 original ATK while "Yami" is on the field (its ATK once Summoned will be 1700). You can Special Summon "Muka Muka" even if you have 6 cards in your hand and "Muka Muka's" ATK, once Summoned, will be higher than 1500.
