Card Trivia talk:Garlandolf, King of Destruction

"Ganondorf represents absolute power in LOZ, and this booster pack is called "Absolute Powerforce"."

Why is this trivia being removed? How is this any different than "Ganon, in the games, is also entitled "King of Darkness"."? Sure, it refers to the pack, but what's wrong with that? Does the pack have NO relevance what so ever? Then doesn't that mean "Legend of Blue Eyes" pack has no relevance in the Blue Eyes White Dragon's trivia? I demand an explanation. Why is the above not acceptable? It does make sense, even if it is just a coincidence. Technically, aren't most trivia coincidences as well? Just because someone who isn't a "natural" to this wikia adds trivia that happens to be a coincidence (again, like most other trivia) has to have it edited out? The reason why I'm taking this so seriously is because I can understand strictness in ruling and tips, but in trivia? It's not like it's misleading. It's a fact.

  • It's got nothing to do with being a regular on this site, I think it was removed because it's way too much of a stretch to say that Garandolph was included just because Ganon and Absolute Powerforce are related to the word "power". Couldn't it just be because they're starting to make more Ritual support? With Blue-Eyes, it makes more sense because the names are obviously related, while this is just speculation and it's reaching, really. --Bluedog (Talk) 02:26, October 3, 2009 (UTC)
  • You know what? Maybe you're right. I might just be blowing steam, I'm the bad guy. The whole "regular" thing was based off a previous experience, but that's shouldn't justify it. But you know, I'm not basing that Garandolph was ONLY added for that reason. If you're going to mention Ganondorf, what's wrong about mentioning that too? Not like we're lying to the people on the page. Just pointing something that people might not have noticed. Isn't that what trivia is about?

Some reason this page is locked? I wanted to point out that the name “Garlandolf” actually sounds like a portmanteau of “Ganandorf”, the final boss from LoZ games and “Garland”, the first boss in the first Final Fantasy game who later transforms into “Chaos”, the final boss in the first Final Fantasy game. Since the page is locked and I’m new to the site, could someone please add that bit for me to the trivia? Thanks. EightBitBastard 00:30, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • I don't understand this either. And like Wolfjounin said above , it makes no sence that a trivia is removed if it has relevance to a card. The mods seem to have their own idea on what's acceptable trivia (Insignificant or inessential matters) that should be put up. --" Watashi no turn Draw..." 23:49, February 14, 2010 (UTC)SpikeTrigger

The name seems like a combination of Garland, the main antagonist of Final Fantasy I and Ganondorf as well. Ganondorf is titled "King of Darkness" while Garland turns into a deity called Chaos, the god of Destruction and Discord. Maybe it could be included that as well
