I remember when chaos was the top deck of the format and I ran an unexpected defense card I ran winged kuriboh because he is a light monster and has a great effect. If I remember correctly I was the only person to run him.Solastramage666 23:05, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

  • Those were the good 'ol days... No insanely fast decks... When winning wasn't a matter of money.. --Tantara 00:46, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

  • when Blue-Eyes was THE monster, when no one could get a 4-star higher than 1900, or an 8-star higher than 3000. When Summoned Skull was a power hitter 6-star, with (gasp) 2500 ATK. When cards were good in any deck, without being gladiator-specific, hero-specific, WHATEVER!! When decks were build based on strategy and player style, not on one of the eleventy-billion new archetypes. (sigh) I miss the good old days.

being a little harsh

come on people, its a game, it has to change depending on the fanbase, it was destined to do this, like all games. if its all the same stuff over and over people lose intrest, hence, new cards, new ideas, new games. the same is for the ban list, to get rid of the monotony. and who said there was no "strategy" these days, its tougher than ever now, gotta be able to out-think, out-draw, out-smart the opponent, gotta deduce whats in his deck before he does yours and to be able to counter it, thats hard as hell these days cause of so many different playstyles.

strategy

There still is a ton of strategy today! It's harder to create decks. When I created my deck I didn't just put any random card in! I had to think strategy after strategy! More strategic decks means more strategy involved in the duel. Not just that is better have "heroes" and the other new archetypes because it starts to get boring when whoever has 3 blue eyes white dragons in their deck always wins.--Blueyeyesawesomedragon 19:06, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

okay, okay

Granted xD I think I miss the good old days just for the sake of them being the good old days. xD I'm sure anyone who's been in cards for a few years misses old days and old strategies. In the mean time, allow us old fogies our gripes :)
