I THINK I looked through every card in LoD, and I don't understand how the Lightlords are powerful. They seem weak, along with having the side-effect of decking the user. Can someone explain to me how they are supposed to be used? Zeek Aran 23:44, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, having 3 "Blasting the Ruins", which does 3000 points of damage to your opponent when you have 30 or more cards in your graveyard, could be lethal... IF you manage to have a few cards to make sure you can activate the 3 without them getting negated/destroyed, and to get them back from the graveyard.

so i would say that making a "good" Lightlord deck is somewhat difficult, but all that difficult

Well, it has what is basically a slightly less powerful Chaos Emperor Dragon. Danny Lilithborne 06:16, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
If they are weak, they won't be part of the meta in Japan now would it? Milling your deck is an advantage in Lightlords, because of Dragoon. Simply use Valley+Solar Exchange or Monster Reincarnation to gather 3 Dragoons, summon 1 Dragoon, use effect, then summon the rest for game. All of this happens within 5 turns on average. --Pizzaman 08:45, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

Well, I guess that the Judgment Dragun is the Lightlord trump card, just like Rainbow Dragon and Volcanic Doomfire work respectively in their themes. But does that mean that Dragun is the only winning strategy in this deck? Or is there anything else? Sorry, but I can't pinpoint any other strenghts. I mean, I get the whole idea of light consuming matter to shine. But this deck is sure gonna have a tough time fighting stall decks. But if it were a weak set it wouldn't be so popular in Japan. So, do you guys have any othe leads.

  • Well for one thing, stall isn't a meta deck, so it's hard to encounter one... and anyway, Lightlord are fast, and will end the duel before a proper lock is formed. And yeah, Dragoon is pretty much the whole point of making Lightlord decks. I like using this analogy: "Judgment Dragoon is the burger in the hamburger." --Pizzaman 09:27, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

● I just thought of something... would Light-Imprisoning Mirror negate the Lightlord's "Send 2(3) cards from deck to graveyard" effect?

  • Light-Imprisoning Mirror will indeed negate all the effects of Lightlords. I've seen it being side decked quite a bit now. --Pizzaman 09:27, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
If you're trying to find the pros of using Lightlords, negating their effects is probably not the best thing to do. Zeek Aran 14:37, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
I obviously meant sidedecking Mirror as an anti-Lightlord card. --Pizzaman 15:15, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
To whoever compared Judgment Dragun to Rainbow Dragon and Volcanic Doomfire: there's an important difference. Rainbow Dragon and Volcanic Doomfire are bad cards; Judgment Dragun is an easier, faster, better Demise, and wins games. Also, Light-Imprisoning Mirror is OCG tech/Side Deck material in the same way that Shadow-Imprisoning Mirror is here in the TCG.--Crab Helmet 20:39, 21 April 2008 (UTC)

a crazy good lightlord deck consists of:

  • many lightlords that discard
  • many lightlords and spells that ressurect the discarded monsters. Mini neos 05:42, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Ok, but about how many cards does a killer lightsworn deck contain. Obviously there must be more cards than any other decl type. But around how many is the best amount?

40 cards is better for getting the cards you want faster, and discarding them. i think foolish burial is good for the discarding part. Mini neos 09:46, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Yes it is. -- Dragon of chaos 14:24, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
