Forum:Merging Sub-Archetype articles suggestion

I was thinking that rather than each sub-archetype having it's own page, the pages could be merged with the original archetype page as a sub-heading. I know that there are several pages, particularly the Duel Terminal archetypes, that this could be done for. --Rayjayjay (talk • contribs) 23:43, December 23, 2012 (UTC)

Are you suggesting merging all subarchetypes to their superarchetype or just particular ones? I think we're better off with separate pages.
  • Some well-known archetypes are subarchetypes of something obscure. e.g. "Symphonic Warrior" is an subarchetype of "Warrior", which is currently only a supported archetype through a one-shot manga card, "Defend Warrior".
  • Some archetypes are also subarchetypes of more than one archetype. e.g. "Gem-Knight" is a subarchetype of "Gem-" and "Knight".
  • Given how SMW is currently set up, each archetype and series needs to have its own page for their navboxes to work correctly. Although, this is theoretically changeable.
  • Every topic, archetype or not, is a subtopic of something else. In most cases, I think if the subtopic has had some sort of recognition, it is deserving of an article.
