Can someone explain what Missing the Timing is? I really don't understand this concept at all ( I just heard about it today while I was playing my Yu-Gi-Oh 200g GBA ROM) and I've been playing this game for 5 years now.

  • If an effect is optional (that is, if it says "you *can* do this *if* this action occurs"), then that condition must be the last thing to happen. The easiest example for purposes of explanations is Peten the Dark Clown. If you Tribute Peten for a higher level monster, the last thing to happen would be the summoning of the monster, which does not meet the condition of the card. The last thing to happen has to be Peten being sent to the graveyard. So you can't use the effect. Missing the Timing has more information. (Also, please sign your posts with 4 tildes.) Opps. And thank you. This is my 2nd time using the boards. My IP is dyanmic. I was the guy who posted this a few months back.

"There's one thing about face-up defense position I don't think you understand, Topic Creator. If you've ever noticed, monsters on the show being set are a rarity, and if they are, they usually have a flip effect. If a monster is set, we (the audience) won't be able to see the monster, and therefore we will not be able to identify the card. Wether you want to admit it or not, the show is practically a 22 minute commercial for trading cards, and it's demographic is 6-11. Kids in that age group are very likely to beg their parents for money so they can get the cards their favorite character on the anime played.

My point? Face-up defense position is a creative liberty that the show runners of the anime took to increase card sales. Also, as awesome as face-up defense position would be in the offical rules, it would just be too damn cheap." 65.10.22.179 19:33, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

Above poster, what did this have to do with the topic? I think I missed something. Zeek Aran 05:47, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
