Forum:Number 7 Lucky Strike and Attack Points and Effect Veiler

I have searched but was unable to find a clear explanation for this.

I know in TCG the attack stays on the card and doesn't go away.

My question is if you use Breakthrough Skill or Effect Veiler on him in a future turn after he has his attack raised does it drop. I would think not as it is not an effect at that time and the effect to alter his attack already happened. This came up in a game I could find no ruling anywhere.

So to be clear. Turn 1 (my turn) Summon Number 7 and use effect to get attack to say 2800 Turn 2 (Opponent Turn) he uses Effect Veiler. Does this reduce Number 7 back to 700 or did his effect happen on turn 1 and now his attack is set

If the monster only applies an ATK boost to itself, then when it's negated, the ATK boost is also gone. However, if it provides an ATK boost (or loss) to other monster or to every monster, then even if it's negated, the ATK change will remain. Number 7 only modifies its own ATK, so it will be negated. But don't take me for certain. This subject is a very specific one. 186.233.105.22 (talk) 16:26, June 24, 2013 (UTC)
What makes this different however, is the fact that there is never any ATK gain/loss. It makes its ATK become a certain value, which is why it wouldn't be negated. DexxIsBack (talkcontribs) 20:57, June 24, 2013 (UTC)

So which is the right answer here? Anyone have an official ruling or something to reference? 50.138.5.37 (talk) 13:29, June 25, 2013 (UTC)

Check the ruling of this monster cards: "Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast" The ruling on negating the effect should be the same.96.44.92.186 (talk) 14:06, June 26, 2013 (UTC)
