ok so ive been hearing that some people think pot of avarice has a bad cost o_o? i just dont honestly understand how returning 5 monsters to your deck is a bad thing i think its one of the best spells in the game get my kaluts back for my blackwing deck or get my synchros back and draw two cards? i kept wondering why it wasnt banned anyways i dont care if i sound lika noob but can someone please tell me how pot of avarice would be a bad thing? Because if you dont have 5 monsters pot of avarice is dead in your hand.

One more thing is a lot of Decks rely on the Graveyard to start owning their opponents.Examples are DARK-attribute Decks and Junk-based Decks.Hence, the last thing they want is their Graveyard to be empty.115.135.13.231 05:44, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

To Raiga 7:The thing with Pot of Avarice is if anything like Disappear,D.D. Crow or whatever that removes your monster from play or returns them to the Deck, then the entire effect of PoA disappears.Jason Ng 05:50, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

umm wtf?

first of all i run a dark deck and pot of avarice always helps and its never been a dead draw for me and D.D. crows only screwed me over when i use vayu so i still just dont get why people dont like pot of avarice Raiga 21:06, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

A lot of decks these days work by manipulating cards in the Graveyard. Returning them to the deck is considered counterproductive to this goal. Also, by adding cards to the deck you're hurting your odds of drawing newer cards that you might need. --Blue (Talk) 21:09, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

Gettng one in the opening hand is terrible. Also, if you run multiple copies, you're bound to end up waiting for monsters to hit the Graveyard just so you can play your Avarice.--Akiza Izayoi 21:31, March 26, 2010 (UTC)

In my opinion, the decks that can best use Pot of Avarice are those that rely on searching from the deck. Synchro Cat can use it because it special summons all the time. I also used it a lot in my WATER Synchro deck, which could get 5 monsters in grave 1st turn. Runer5h 03:38, March 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

It's like a double edge sword to me. You draw 2 cards for fattening your deck and sometimes its not all that good. You basically reduce the chance of getting key S/T cards in the deck, and those you've just returned could potentially be a dead draw. It is useful for some deck but it is still not a staple card. Putting 2 or 3 of these in your deck is not that advisable, trust me. --SilentHero26 04:40, March 28, 2010 (UTC)

All depends. Some decks don't rely on spells and traps. Again, the old Synchro Cat decks are a good example, which could OTK easily without using any S/Ts except for the ones they discarded for Summoner Monk's effect. Runer5h 16:02, March 28, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I agree there is nothing wrong with pot of avarice. I have it in my deck. whenever i make a new deck i always include it. it's the first card i pick. So really moaning at pot of avarice is kinda moaning at monster reborn and other cards that have the same efffect! Yours Truly... Owen Preston :0) Owen13 19:41, April 3, 2010 (UTC)

Aren't you forgetting a much better Draw Engine? 115.135.247.251 01:38, April 9, 2010 (UTC)

Morphing Jar is slower and works for your opponent too. And who says you can't use both? Runer5h 02:14, April 9, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

I like pot of avarice but i sometimes don't,depends on the deck,in my dragon i can't use it 'cause of dragon's mirror, same goes 4 my Koa'ki Meiru deck when I use Koa'ki Meiru Ghoulungulate it could backfire, but on the other hand it's still a awesome spell Jay Cane 02:43, April 9, 2010 (UTC)
