Hello. I have seen in this page http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Soul_Exchange that the monster targeted by Soul Exchange is tributed not by the magic's effect, but as part of the tribute monster's cost (if i use him to summon a monster). However, i want to know this, please: I activate Soul exchange to target my opponent's monster, and my opponent chains Forbidden Lance and targets his own monster. Question is, can i still tribute it to summon my monster? Thank you. Imadmagician (talk • contribs) 18:48, October 4, 2013 (UTC)
- Soul Exchange definitely "affects" the monster, so if you target a monster and your opponent chains lance, then Exchange won't work since lance makes it unaffected by Exchange. EDIT: But, if your opponent activates Lance on their monster after Soul Exchange already fully resolved (not in a chain), then it can be tributed.
