Forum:Spellbook of Wisdom vs Full-Force Strike

Hey I just wanted to know what would happen in this situation:

So my opponent is using a spellcaster monster on their side of the field and has a face down spellbook of wisdom. I've got one monster on my side of the field with less attack and I use Full-Force Strike on it. I then proceed to attack my opponents spellcaster and they chain with Spellbook of Wisdom on it. Since unless I'm mistaken Full force strike was activated before the spellbook card and is a lingering effect, does the spellcaster monster get destroyed in this case after I attack?

(I'm trying to reference this to the case of tyrants temper vs return from the different dimension, where if you activate return's effect before you activate tyrants temper's effect then return's effect still sends your monsters back.)

Also, does this same ruling apply if my opponent chains to my full force strike with spellbook of wisdom and then attack? --68.80.142.179 (talk) 06:26, November 20, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, it will be destroyed. This applies for the second question too. MadRest 20:08, November 20, 2012 (UTC)
Again, I'm curious... What basis do you use for this? Right now, I'm thinking that "Spellbook of Wisdom" is activated when the attack is declared (and the "Spell Card" immunity is chosen), and the effect of "Full-Force Strike" will try to destroy the Spellcaster-Type monster after damage calculation, but will fail because of the effect of "Spellbook of Wisdom". Am I wrong in thinking this? If so, could you please explain? --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 04:53, November 21, 2012 (UTC)
The same as him - Tyrant's Temper's rulings. Non-Continuous Spell/Trap Cards activated before this card still keep their effects, but I could be wrong, since this card says Spell effects with the new Problem-Solving Card Text. I don't know if this means Lingering effects. If it does, when Full-Force Strike resolves, even though it was chained directly to it, it will be a Lingering effect that destroys the monster, but maybe this isn't a Spell effect. Do the same situations apply for a card like Soul Exchange? --76.124.35.107 (talk) 17:26, November 23, 2012 (UTC)

They should. MadRest 19:18, November 23, 2012 (UTC)
