Alright so raigeki was played and Magic Jammer was chain to it, followed by Seven Tools of the Bandit. Does the player who activated magic jammer have to discard even though seven tools stopped the activation of the trap and destroyed it? DeVast 18:34, January 25, 2010 (UTC)
- Yes you must. Discard a card is the cost to activate Magic Jammer eventhough it'll be negate afterward by other card effect. Any card with a cost effect need to pay before the card is activate. That's what I think, though... Lanspearsaber 18:47, January 25, 2010 (UTC) NoobYugiohPlayer
The player that activated magic jammer must send the card from their hand, as this is one of the conditions for activating the card, as it is a cost the negation of that card doesn't negate the effect to discard your card. This applies for all cards that say send or tribute before their effects eg. crystal abundance. Frozen Abyss 17:59, January 26, 2010 (UTC)
