Forum:Trap Hole timing question

So my question is, when monsters like "howling insect", "giant rat", "karakuri soldier" are destroyed by battle AND sent to the graveyard, they special summon from the deck. since monsters destroyed by battle are sent to the graveyard at the very end of the damage step, can cards like "bottomless trap hole" or "deep dark trap hole" be activated as long as they have a legal target, or is it still the damage step?
