Forum:XYZ weakness

Does any one else think making a set number of XYZ for a monster made it a big weakness? I mean not all XYZ have set power per rank utopia being one of the stronger ones I have seen. A lot of XYZ also say once per turn or have a pretty big weakness once there out of materials (which as far as I know of there is no way to add more). So would it have been better to change 2 level 4 monsters to 2 or more level 4 monsters?

That's the point, it's to inspire strategy. And they only just started, There will likely be better ways to reload the XYZ materials in the future.--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 16:39, October 16, 2011 (UTC)

That's a good point with Utopian ray (or something close) trap card there support looks like it will be good but I think they will need reload support If they are to keep up with synchros To get Upotpia and stardust out you need the same number of levels but A tuner for stardust and 2 level 4s for Utopia they seem pretty close to summon difficulty yet ray seems weaker with his draw back.Shinkirou 17:34, October 16, 2011 (UTC)

How about this:

Both of these monsters can negate a summon. However, they have some key differences, HC has substantially more attack and effence, and his effect can immediately be seen with more uses. Buuuuut, lets look at something else: their summon requirements. HC requires "1 Tuner Synchro Monster + 2 or more non-Tuner Synchro Monsters". That's 3 monsters, or more specifically, 6 monsters. Thats alot to summon one monster, by most standards.. Now lets look at Laggia. "2 Level 4 Dinosaur-Type monsters". Thats pretty cheap in comparision. in fact, dirt cheap, this could be made with One monster in one turn with the most minimal hand loss. My point it that even though XYZ are ussualy limited to the number of XYZ materials attached, its a trade off for being easier, if not faster to summon for little to nothing. Sound fair?--Helix-king (talkcontribs) 22:37, October 16, 2011 (UTC)
