Booster 1 was released on March 1, 1999, becoming one of the very first Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG booster packs. Like other cards printed early on in the game, the cards have no printed set numbers, and lack the distinctive holographic "Eye of Anubis" in the lower right-hand corner of each card. Besides this set was sold only in vending machines called Carddass.
Of the 40 cards in Booster 1, 13 14 ("Ryu-Kishin", "Dig Beak", "Wattkid", "Blue Medicine", "Raimei", "Violet Crystal", "Beast Fangs", "Droll Bird" "Legendary Sword", "Book of Secret Arts", "Happy Lover", "Power of Kaishin", "Battle Warrior" and "Wings of Wicked Flame") have since been released in the English Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. Many of these cards have been included in the video games.
This set is a partial blend of cards released in Volume 1 and previously unreleased cards.
