At the end of Battle City, after the duo had said their goodbyes to everyone who was leaving [[Domino City]] after the end of the tournament, the two Duelists made good on their promise, and their Duel began. However, nothing is known of the actual Duel itself, nor of the cards the Duelists used during the Duel.
The only thing known of the Duel is that the next time "Red-Eyes Black Dragon" is seen again (in the [[Waking the Dragons]] arc of the anime or the battle with [[Zorc Necrophades]] in the manga), it is seen in Joey's possession rather than Yugi's. Whether Joey won the Duel or not is left ambiguous, but the one thing is made clear: regardless of the outcome of the Duel, Joey showed proved himself worthy of holding "Red-Eyes" again.
