Despite considering himself to be not much of a Duelist, Tristan allowed the player to repeatedly challenge him to Duels for practice.
The player informed Tristan that [[Joey Wheeler (TSC and ROD)|Joey Wheeler]] and [[Tea Gardner (TSC and ROD)|Tea Gardner]] had been kidnapped by [[Rare Hunters|Ghouls]]. Tristan then left Lucky and searched for information. On his search, he found [[Mai Valentine (TSC and ROD)|Mai Valentine]], who suggested the idea of asking [[Seto Kaiba (TSC and ROD)|Seto Kaiba]] to use the transponder in Joey's [[Duel Disk]] to locate them. Tristan and Mai then went to the toy shop to pass the suggestion on to the player and [[Yugi Muto (TSC and ROD)|Yugi Muto]]. Yugi and the player went to the [[Kaiba Corporation headquarters]], while Tristan and Mai continued to search for more leads.
