"'''Drain'''" (ドレイン ''Dorein'') is a [[series]] of [[Continuous Trap Card]]s focused on [[negate|negating]] [[Monster Effect]]s. There are three cards in this series: "[[Skill Drain]]", which negates effects on the [[field]], "[[Soul Drain]]", which prevents effects in the [[Graveyard]] and [[banish]]ed cards from being activated, and "[[Mind Drain]]", which prevents effects in the [[hand]] from being activated. All three cards require the user to [[pay]] 1000 [[Life Points]] to activate them.

A "Drain" deck typically focuses on using the effects of "[[Skill Drain]]" to negate the effects of monsters on the field. This allows the player to use powerful monsters with negative-utility effects without worrying about the drawback. Monsters typically used include [[Level 4 ATK and DEF Rulesconventions|monsters with more than 2000 ATK]] ("[[Giant Kozaky]]", "[[Chainsaw Insect]]", "[[Goblin Attack Force]]", etc.). Also used are high-level monsters that can Special Summon themselves, or Normal Summon without [[Tribute|Tributing]], for an ATK penalty ("[[Vice Dragon]]", "[[Fusilier Dragon, the Dual-Mode Beast]]", "[[Beast King Barbaros]]", etc.).
