The '''Extra Deck''' (Japanese: エクストラデッキ ''Ekusutora Dekki'', abbreviated {{Ruby|ＥＸ|エクストラ}}デッキ in [[card text]] since ''[[Code of the Duelist]]''), formerly known as the '''Fusion Deck''' ({{Ruby|融|ゆう}}{{Ruby|合|ごう}}デッキ ''Yūgō Dekki''), is a Deck where [[Fusion Monster|Fusion]], [[Synchro Monster|Synchro]], [[Xyz Monster|Xyz]], and [[Link Monster]]s are stored during a [[Duel]]; [[Pendulum Monster]]s that would otherwise have been sent from the [[field]] to the [[Graveyard]] are also sent to the Extra Deck face-up instead.

It is not necessary to [[shuffle]] the Extra Deck, even when a card specifies that the card would be shuffled into the Deck.

* The player can choose to not include an Extra Deck.

* The Extra Deck can only include [[Legal]] cards.

** The Extra Deck cannot include [[Main Deck]] cards or [[Token|Token Card]]s.

* The Extra Deck can include up to 15 cards.

* The [[Main Deck]], [[Side Deck]], and Extra Deck combined can include up to 3 copies of any [[Unlimited]] card.

** Cards which have their name [[Permanently treated as alternate name|permanently treated as a different name]] are considered to be the same as that card for deck construction. Cards that are [[Treated as multiple names|permanently treated as multiple names]] are counted as both names.

* The Deck must be constructed using only card product provided at the event.

* There is no limit on the number of cards with the same name that can be included in the player's Decks.

* The Extra Deck can include up to 6 cards.

* The Extra Deck can only include cards with the [[Speed Duel Logo]].

* The combined Decklist, including the Skill Card, can include up to 1 [[Limited 1]] card (in total), 2 [[Limited 2]] cards (in total), and 3 [[Limited 3]] cards (in total).

* The Extra Deck can include up to 15 cards.

* The player can choose to not include an Extra Deck.

Limits on the number of cards that are stored in the Extra Deck in the anime and manga are not yet determined. It is also not clear at all times of the series if the Extra Deck even exists; in many early Duels, the players seem to simply fuse monsters without ever apparently pulling the Fusion Monster card from anywhere.

* In ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS]]'', [[Yusaku Fujiki]] adds the "[[Borreload Furious Dragon (anime)|Borreload Furious Dragon]]" that [[Roken Kogami]] gives him to his Main Deck. When "[[Firewall Dragon (anime)|Firewall Dragon]]", a [[Link Monster]], was resonating in the anime, a slot on the back of his Duel Disk glows blue, suggesting it may be the Extra Deck. During his final Duel with [[Ai]], Playmaker used exactly 15 Extra Deck monsters.
