'''Negative Levels''' are a new concept appearing only in the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's]] anime, and are used exclusively on the new [[Dark Synchro Monsters]]. This effect does not appear to be able to be replicated with card effects that would lower a monster's In real life any such [[Level]] to 0 or lower, such as with "[[Demotion]]". Currently, the only card that can cause a [[Monster Cards|monster]] to have "Negative Level(s)" is anime-exclusive [[Normal Spell Cards|Spell Card]] [[Dark Wave]]are instead positive.

Currently, the only card that can cause a [[Monster Cards|monster]] to have a negative Level is "[[Dark Wave]]". They are represented by [[Image:NegStar.png|Negative Level Star]], which aligns to the left of the card, whereas "Positive" positive Level Stars align to the right.
