Incorrect date?

This page lists the date of the tournament as starting on August 1st, 2000. However, 1999 lists this tournament as taking place in August of 1999. Which is correct? I'm leaning towards 1999 based purely on the fact that August 2000 would place this tournament after the one for its sequel video game.
