Ahoy, I'm Flesk.

I'm pretty new to the yugioh trading card game, but I'm trying to make up for that by learning as fast as I can.

The first foil card I ever got in a booster pack was a Botanical Lion from crossroads of chaos. After playing a few games against my friends
who are more seasoned yugioh players, I realized that my deck needed a theme and a strategy to stand a chance against other players and I decided to build my
deck around the few plant cards I had.

I kept buying booster packs (some with plants in them, and others randomly) and tested the new cards I got in duels with my friends. It took me a long time, and I gradually let go of
Botanical Lion as the trump card of my deck in favor of other plants like Gigaplant and Lonefire Blossom (Phantom darkness was kind to me), but I can finally say that I have
a deck that is competitive in the circle of duelists I know and play against.

I'm currently improving my plant deck by experimenting with cards like Swing of Memories and Supervise (Gigaplant has become a major focus for me lately but I wish to test cards myself
and make a deck that I can call my own, rather than copy someone elses ideas), and I've started two other deck projects; Crystal Beasts and Fortune Ladies. The crystal beast idea appeals to me
because of their unique mechanics and I just happened to get many Fortune Lady cards from the later booster packs so I figured I'd try them out ;)

Kudos to you if you read all of that, figured it would be lazy of me to just have a blank user page. Feel free to clutter my talk page although I can't promise I'll remember to check it too often :3Flesk 19:03, December 17, 2009 (UTC)

Update1: Completed the crystal beast deck some weeks ago! A friend of mine got a Dragon Queen of Tragic Endings at the ABPF sneak peek which turned out to fit the crystal beast theme pretty
nicely after I traded him for it. Sadly I found out just how hard it can be for an old non-meta deck like crystal beasts to stand toe to toe with solid competitive decks like blackwings or gladiators.
Gladiator beasts proved to be an especially tough match-up. Their control makes it kinda hard to build up any crystals in the spell/trap card zone, and the low stats of my crystal beasts coupled with
the low number of traps I run basically invite them to fuse heraklinos. Nevertheless, it has been a fun side project, and I'll gladly pop my crystal beasts out in friendly duels against other "rogue" decks.

Update2: Fortune ladies will have to wait, I got lucky and pulled a plaguespreader from crossroads of chaos and I've been dying to make a zmbie deck ever since then. After the ban list, I really feel that
there's more room for creativity in the zombie scene. The limiting of Mezuki especially may have opened up an opportunity to play Shutendoji (I'm going to try this guy out with Return from the Different Dimension).
I've always had an interest in creatures from folk lore and stuff (got a lot of stories from scandinavia where I live) and I find it really neat that Mezuki and Shutendoji are Yōkai from Japanese
mythology (at least Shutendoji, Mezuki may be more of a chinese thing or so I read :o).
