It was about ten years ago when I first heard of this anime.  At the time, I wasn't really that interested in it.  And no, it was '''''not''''' because it was an anime to which, in every season made, an evil force threatens all of mankind, and that the protagonist, always being male, has to stop this evil force through the use of [[Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series|children's card games]].  I was just plain uninterested, is all.

However, everything suddenly changed when I received a [[Starter Deck: Kaiba Evolution]] for my twelfth birthday (to which I '''''so''''' did not see that coming).  I then started to collect more and more of the cards, began to watch the anime, and I became obsessed with the series ever since (okay, maybe not "obsessed" as in "crazed fanboy obsessed", but you get the idea =P).
