In ancient Egypt, the White-Winged Ka aided the [[Sacred Guardians|High Priests]] in conducting the [[Weighing of the Heart]]. Millennia later, its spirit was infused in the "[[Winged Kuriboh (manga)|Winged Kuriboh]]" ''[[Duel Monsters (manga)|Duel Monsters]]'' card, where it served as a [[Spirit Partner]] to [[Koyo Hibiki]] and later [[Jaden Yuki (manga)|Jaden Yuki]].

===Ancient Egypt===

The High Priest preceding [[Kalim (manga)|Kalim]] judged [[Tragoedia (character)|Tragoedia]] using the [[Millennium Scales (manga)|Millennium Scales]]. The White-Winged Ka, was weighed against the [[Feather of Ma'at]]. The White-Winged Ka represented the sin in Tragoedia's heart, while the feather represented righteousness, truth and order. Tragoedia's sins greatly outweighed righteousness, truth and order, causing the White-Winged Ka's end of the scales to immediately hit the ground. The sins were so strong that Winged Kuriboh turned black.

After Tragoedia released his ka and attempted to reabsorb his heart, Winged Kuriboh absorbed the Feather of Ma'at, protecting itself. After Tragoedia's imprisonment, the priests decided to send Winged Kuriboh somewhere far away. Tragoedia would later theorize that they somehow infused the power of the Millennium Items into the ka as well, due to it being a fusion material for Ma'at herself.

===Modern times===
[[Koyo Hibiki]] received the "[[Winged Kuriboh (manga)|Winged Kuriboh]]" card from [[Maximillion J. Pegasus (manga)|Maximillion J. Pegasus]] at a ''[[Duel Monsters (manga)|Duel Monsters]]'' mall tournament. Pegasus had previous placed the ka inside the card, but it would only awaken after Koyo's Shadow Game against Tragoedia.

Koyo told Jaden that "[[Winged Kuriboh (manga)|Winged Kuriboh]]" was his favorite card, which Jaden found odd, as he considered it to be a weak card. Koyo told him about the spirit dwelling in the card, but Jaden did not believe him. The spirit of Winged Kuriboh watched, invisible to Jaden, watched this conversation and got annoyed by Jaden's skepticism.<ref name="cpt 10">{{chapter|Yu-Gi-Oh! GX|10|ref}}</ref>

When Koyo met [[Chazz Princeton (manga)|Chazz Princeton]], Winged Kuriboh took an interest in Chazz's card, "[[Light and Darkness Dragon (character)|Light and Darkness Dragon]]". It passed the [[Feather of Ma'at]] into the card, causing a spirit to dwell inside. Koyo tried asking what Winged Kuriboh had done, but was interrupted by [[Midori Hibiki]], who could not see Winged Kuriboh and thought he was talking to himself.<ref name="cpt 10" />

When Jaden met [[Chazz Princeton (manga)|Chazz Princeton]] at [[Duel Academy]], he mentioned how he would like to battle Chazz's "[[Light and Darkness Dragon (manga)|Light and Darkness Dragon]]" with his "Winged Kuriboh". Chazz was disgusted that Jaden considered the two cards to be equal. However when Jaden told him off and said that Winged Kuriboh was his [[Spirit Partner]], Chazz got a shock when he saw Winged Kuriboh's spirit appear.<ref name="cpt 2">{{chapter|Yu-Gi-Oh! Chazz arranged a battle with Jaden to see if he could win without using his spirit partner, [[Light and Darkness Dragon (character)|Light and Darkness Dragon]], while Jaden used his, Winged Kuriboh.<ref name="cpt 2" /> During the Duel, Jaden Summoned "Winged Kuriboh", which Chazz proceeded to mock.
