==Summary==
As [[Yusho Sakaki|Yusho]] limps through the halls of [[Duel Academy (ARC-V)|Duel Academy]], he hears footsteps behind him and he turns to see [[Kite Tenjo (ARC-V)|Kite]] and [[Aster Phoenix (ARC-V)|Aster]] run into view from a cross-cutting corridor (in the dub, he hears Kite telling Aster to come on). Kite and Aster rush up to him, Kite calling him "teacher" (Mr. Sakaki in the dub), and Yusho says their names. Aster looks at Yusho's leg in shock, and Kite asks if Yusho saw [[Yuya Sakaki|Yuya]]; they saw him acting strangely earlier, and they believe that he is being controlled by [[the Doktor]]. Yusho interrupts Kite, explaining that he's wrong (in the dub, Kite simply notes that Yuya isn't acting like himself, and Yusho replies that Kite is half right; it's worse than he can imagine).

In [[Leo Akaba|the Professor's]] throne room, the [[Awakened]] Yuya screams in fury and pain from his crucified position in the pillar and struggles against his bonds. [[Zuzu Boyle|Zuzu]] whispers Yuya's name, and [[Declan Akaba|Declan]] looks up at his friend. A staff member reports in to Leo, informing him that the [[ARC-V Reactor]] has reached 50% power. Leo acknowledges this, and the platform that his throne rests on expands into a cone and lifts into the air, heading for the ARC-V Reactor. Declan furiously yells at Leo to wait and shut off his machine right now, but the glass wall seals behind Leo and he muses that it is already too late; they cannot turn back now (in the dub, he directly addresses the girls, telling them that their life energy will fuel the Reactor). He watches as the light within the ARC-V Reactor intensifies once again, causing Zuzu, [[Celina]], [[Lulu Obsidian|Lulu]] and [[Rin]] to faint within their capsules.

Aster repeats the name, "demon Duelist [[Z-ARC]]?" in surprise, and Kite asks if Yuya and [[Yuto]] are his alter egos (in the dub, Aster simply notes that Z-ARC sounds like the worst of the worst, and Kite agrees that they can't allow him to resurrect). Yusho confirms it; Yuya and Yuto, as well as [[Yugo]] and [[Yuri]] are all alter egos of Z-ARC, who once brought the world to ruin, and now they are trying to become one again to revive Z-ARC. Kite realizes that Yuto really is inside Yuya, and Aster remembers Yugo challenging Yuri to protect [[Sora Perse|Sora]] in horror (in the dub, Kite protests that Yuto has already merged with Yuya, and as Aster realizes what's happening, Yusho states that it's thus even more critical that they keep Yugo and Yuri separate). Aster reveals that Yugo and Yuri are currently in the middle of a Duel, much to Yusho's shock, but he falters on his injured leg as he steps closer to Aster and Kite has to catch him. Yusho tries to reassure them that he's okay, but Aster urges Yugo to allow him to go. Yusho whisper's Aster's name, and Aster explains that he encountered Yuya in the [[Xyz Dimension]] and was able to understand Yusho's teachings about bringing smiles with Dueling (in the dub, rather than mention Yuya, Aster admits that they never saw eye-to-eye, but he understands now). He takes out his half of Yusho's torn "[[Smile World (anime)|Smile World]] and looks at it, asking Yusho to allow him to put those teachings into practice before sprinting off. Yusho remembers when Aster tore the card in half, and as Kite helps him up, he realizes that Aster has kept it all this time.

Purple lightning strikes through the hole in the ceiling between the [[Awakened]] Yugo and Yuri; their eyes glowing, but now faintly enough that their irises are visible, and "[[Clear Wing Synchro Dragon (anime)|Clear Wing Synchro Dragon]]" and "[[Starving Venom Fusion Dragon (anime)|Starving Venom Fusion Dragon]]" facing off between them. Yuri tells Yugo that now he will become one with him, and he orders "Starving Venom Fusion Dragon" to [[attack]] "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon". "Starving Venom" blasts its hind mouths at "Clear Wing", and Yugo tells Yuri not to mess with him – Yuri will become one with ''him''. He [[activate]]s a [[Continuous Trap Card]], "[[Burning Sonic]]", which negates the attack and increases the [[ATK]] of "Clear Wing" by 500. A shield of heat waves deflects the mouths and "Clear Wing" rises to 3000 ATK. Aster arrives, and as he looks at the Duel in shock, Sora tells him to hurry up and stop the Duel. Yugo immediately snaps around to glare at Aster, who states that he was going to anyway and he activates his [[Duel Disk]]. Kite adds that he will too, running to take his place beside Aster and activate his own Disk. A voice declares, "Intrusion Penalty: 2000 [[LP]]", and both Kite and Aster fall to 2000 LP. Yugo tells them to stay out of his way, and Yuri smiles, and he [[Set]]s a card to end his turn (in the dub, he stirs up trouble by contrasting Yugo's statement and stating that he personally believes the more the merrier).

Kite declares his turn and draws, then he explains that when he controls no monsters while his opponent controls a monster that was [[Special Summon]]ed from the [[Extra Deck]] he can Special Summon "[[Cipher Twin Raptor (anime)|Cipher Twin Raptor]]" from his hand. Then since he Special Summoned a "[[Cipher]]" monster, he Special Summons "[[Cipher Biplane (anime)|Cipher Biplane]]" from his hand. He activates the effect of "Cipher Biplane", to change the [[Level]] of "Cipher Twin Raptor" to [[Level 8 Monster Cards|8]], and "Cipher Biplane" begins to glow brightly as its wings beat, causing "Cipher Twin Raptor" to rise to Level 8. Yugo tells him to hold on a minute; activating the effect of "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon" to negate the activation of a [[Level 5 Monster Cards|Level 5]] or higher monster and destroy it with "[[Attack and effect names in Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V|Reverse Revenge]]". "Clear Wing" blasts out rays of light that dissipate "Cipher Biplane", and as "Twin Raptor" falls back to [[Level 4 Monster Cards|Level 4]], Yugo adds that "Clear Wing" will gain the ATK of the destroyed "Biplane until the [[End Phase]] as "Clear Wing" rises to 4000 ATK. Undaunted, Kite activates the other effect of "Cipher Biplane" as it was destroyed this turn, [[banish]]ing it from his [[Graveyard]] to add "[[Cipher Wing (anime)|Cipher Wing]]" from his Deck to his hand, which he then [[Normal Summon]]s. He [[Tribute]]s it to activate its effect, increasing the Level of all "Cipher" monsters he controls by 4, bringing "Cipher Twin Raptor" up to Level 8 again. Yugo grits his teeth in frustration, and Yuri smiles, noting that Kite calculated his moves perfectly (in the dub, Yuri asks if that's supposed to scare him; Kite replies that it should). Kite explains that "Cipher Twin Raptor" can be treated as two [[Xyz Material]]s for an [[Xyz Summon]], and he overlays the Level 8 "Cipher Twin Raptor", [[Summon chants in Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V|chanting]], "Galaxy shining in the darkness! Embody the demon god of revenge and become my very servant! Xyz Summon! Descend! [[Rank 8 Monster Cards|Rank 8]]! Declaring [[Battle Phase|battle]], Kite attacks "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon" with "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon", much to Yugo's surprise, as "Galaxy-Eyes" only has 3000 ATK. Kite activates a [[Quick-Play Spell Card]], "[[Attack Reversal]]", which will switch the ATK of the battling monsters. Realizing what Kite is up to, Yugo activates the other effect of "Burning Sonic", sending it to the Graveyard to negate "Attack Reversal". Aster gasps that Yugo countered Kite; and the battle still continues as "Clear Wing" loses the ATK it gained from "Burning Snoic", falling to 3500 ATK. Kite activates another Quick-Play Spell Card, "[[Rank-Up-Magic Cipher Shock]]", since his "Cipher" [[Xyz Monster]] would be destroyed, allowing him to prevent its destruction and negate the effects of all monsters on the field until the end of the turn. "Galaxy-Eyes" blasts its stream of light, but "Clear Wing" flies right through it, its wings glowing, as Yugo reminds Kite that he will still take damage. "Clear Wing" tackles "Galaxy-Eyes", reducing Kite to 1500 LP, and he ducks away and explains that the effect of "Cipher Shock" will end the Battle Phase, and then allow him to use the Rank 8 "Galaxy-Eyes" as material to Xyz Summon a "Cipher" Xyz Monster that is one [[Rank]] higher. "Galaxy-Eyes" comes to a stop in mid-air before transforming into an energy form and entering an [[Overlay Network]] in front of Kite.

Kite chants, " Galaxy shining in the darkness! Release the eternal unchanging light, and become a beacon that illuminates the future! [[Xyz Evolution#Rank-Up Xyz Evolution|Rank-Up Xyz Evolution]]! Appear now! [[Rank 9 Monster Cards|Rank 9]]! [[Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon (anime)|Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon]]!" He detaches all of "Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon's" [[Overlay Unit]]s to activate its "Cipher Super Subjection" effect, taking control of all monsters his opponent controls with their effects negated and treating them as "Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon". "Starving Venom" and "Clear Wing" both vanish and then reappear on Kite's field, before becoming cloaked in light that takes the form of "Neo Galaxy-Eyes", their ATKs rising to 4500. Aster expresses shock that Kite was able to take control of their monsters, and Kite tells Aster that he's leaving this to him (in the dub, Kite sarcastically thanks them for the reinforcements, and he tells Aster to enjoy; Aster's amazement is cut from the dub). Kite Sets a card, ending his turn-

Yugo tells him to hold on, activating the effect of the "[[Speedroid Skull Marbles (anime)|Speedroid Skull Marbles]]" in his hand at this timing to Special Summon it, much to Kite's shock. Yugo explains that he can Special Summon "Skull Marbles" from his hand during the End Phase of a turn that his opponent Special Summoned a monster from their Extra Deck. "Skull Marbles" appears on the field with zero ATK, which Yugo notes, commenting that it'll be easy to surpass, won't it? Just try attacking him on their next turn; but they'll be taking the battle damage instead. Kite grits his teeth and ends his turn, apologizing to Aster; he wanted to give him the best conditions for his turn. Aster reassures him that this will be enough.

He declares his turn and draws as Sora watches, remembering that Aster graduated from Duel Academy and was suddenly appointed Commander-in-Chief when they sent troops to the Xyz Dimension. He recalls passing Aster in the hallways, reflecting that he never liked him. Aster, who wore his cloak at this point, stopped and told Sora that when he graduated he would like him to come under his command; he knew Sora would do well (in the dub, he is politer with Sora, stating that he's been keeping an eye on him as well). Sora refused, preferring to work alone since he's not the military type, which was why he volunteered to infiltrate the [[Standard Dimension]], but in comparison to Aster's skills... He thinks, "I beg you, Aster!" (in the dub, Sora admits to himself that he can't always work alone, and Aster might be the only Duelist tough enough to win this – and Yugo and Yuri are about to find out why).

Aster activates the [[Spell Card]], "[[Polymerization (anime)|Polymerization]]", [[Fusion Material|fusing]] "[[Destiny HERO - Decider (anime)|Destiny HERO - Decider]]" and "[[Destiny HERO - Dreamer (anime)|Destiny HERO - Dreamer]]" from his hand, chanting, "Hero resolved to decide victory! Hero of the dream world! Become one now and reign supreme in the pitch-black future! [[Fusion Summon]]! Come on! [[Destiny HERO - Dystopia (anime)|Destiny HERO - Dystopia]]!" ("With the help of this next monster, your fates are about to take a terrifying turn for the worse! I Fusion Summon Destiny HERO - Dystopia!" in the dub.) He activates the "Tumbling Palm" effect of "Dystopia", inflicting the ATK of one of its Fusion Materials to Yugo (in the dub, he specifies that it's "Decider"). Yugo activates another Continuous Trap, "[[Speedroid Shuriken Hurricane]]", which will deal the damage to Aster instead. Aster coolly activates the effect of "Decider", returning it from his Graveyard to his hand to negate the effect damage, and he is buffeted by the winds of the Trap Card. Yugo angrily tells Aster to just die already, and Aster thinks that he has to finish this Duel quickly (in the dub, Yugo vows to take Aster out next turn. Aster retorts, "You wish!" and Yugo snaps that he doesn't need to wish, he knows. Aster comments that it's time to prove him wrong; because nobody beats Aster Phoenix). He activates the Spell Card "[[D-Dragging Hammer]]" from his hand, equipping "Decider" to "Dystopia" to lower the ATK of "Dystopia" by that of "Decider" to 1200.

Yugo realizes that Aster is planning something, and he activates another effect of "Speedroid Shuriken Hurricane" since the ATK of a monster changed to inflict that ATK change to Aster. Aster is buffeted back by the winds again, falling to 400 LP, but immediately activates the effect of "Dystopia" since its ATK changed, allowing him to destroy a card on the field. "Dystopia" raises its hand as it sucks "Speedroid Skull Marbles" into its palm with "Noble Justice", and Yugo grits his teeth in anger, muttering that "Speedroid Shuriken Hurricane" will be destroyed since he doesn't control a "[[Speedroid]]" monster. Aster tells him to remember; he came here to rescue Rin (in the dub, Aster asks Yugo what Rin would think if she saw him acting like a jerk). Yugo repeats her name in confusion, remembering Rin getting to her feet in the thrall of the "[[Fusion Parasite (anime)|Fusion Parasite]]". Yuri asks if Yugo is done playing, telling him not to forget that he's his real opponent (in the dub, he sneers that he wishes he had some popcorn to watch friends fighting friends). Aster tells Yugo that there's no way he could have forgotten Rin (in the dub, he reminds Yugo who Rin is, commenting that he knew Yugo was dumb, but he didn't think he would forget her already), and he attacks Yugo directly with "Dystopia", ordering "Dystopian Destruction". Yugo promptly activates the effect of the "[[Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice (anime)|Speedroid Tri-Eyed Dice]]" in his Graveyard, banishing it to negate the attack. Kite curses that Yugo countered it altogether (in the dub, he laments that Yugo's brain is still scrambled), but Aster states that there is still hope; for a single moment, Yugo responded to Rin's name, so his true self isn't gone. Lightning strikes again as Aster Sets two cards, ending his turn. Yuri angrily mutters that Aster is quite the unsightly fly (in the dub, he mutters that Aster is getting on his nerves).

Yugo declares his turn and draws, then he Summons the [[Tuner monster]], "[[Speedroid Maliciousmagnet (anime)|Speedroid Maliciousmagnet]]". He activates its effect, allowing him to target a non-Tuner monster his opponent controls and use it to [[Synchro Summon]]. As "Maliciousmagnet" radiates magnetic waves within its magnets, Yugo warns them that he's taking back his "Clear Wing", which dissipates and reappears on his field, still cloaked in its "Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" guise, and then he tunes the [[Level 1 Monster Cards|Level 1]] "Maliciousmagnet" with the [[Level 7 Monster Cards|Level 7]] "Clear Wing". "Clear Wing" returns to its normal appearance within the tuning ring as Yugo chants, "Shine the wings that store the holy light, and strike down your enemies with its radiance! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 8! [[Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon (anime)|Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon]]!" He declares battle, attacking "Dystopia" with "Crystal Wing". Aster activates the Continuous Trap Card, "[[Urban Demise]]", which increases the ATK of "Dystopia" by 100 to 1300. Since its ATK changed, this triggers its effect to destroy a card on the field again. He tells Yugo to listen to what he's saying as he activates the "Noble Justice" effect of "Dystopia" again. Yugo replies that it's useless, activating the effect of "Crystal Wing", negating the effect of "Dystopia" and destroying it. As "Crystal Wing" begins building up light in its wings, Kite snaps that he won't let Yugo, activating the Continuous Trap Card "[[Split Guard]]" since there are at least two monsters with the same name on the field, preventing the destruction of each monster on the field once per turn. Yusho arrives as the light and winds dissipate, and Aster explains that it seems like Yugo and Yuya were once the same person, so he ought to know that Dueling is not a tool for conflict, but to bring smiles to everyone. Yuya taught him that, so Yugo should have that same spirit. (in the dub, Aster asks Yugo if that's the best he's got, because it's nowhere near enough to stop them. When he Duels out of anger and hate, then there's no way he can win, and believe him, Aster knows. He had to learn that lesson, and so will Yugo).

Yugo snaps that that makes no sense and he warns Aster that the battle continues (in the dub, he tells Aster that he'll shut him up if Aster won't). When "Crystal Wing" attacks a Level 5 or higher monster, it gains that monster's ATK. "Crystal Wing" powers up to 4300 ATK and blasts light from its wings at "Dystopia", but Aster snaps that he's not done talking, activating the effect of "Destiny HERO - Dreamer" from his Graveyard, preventing the destruction of a "[[Destiny HERO]]" monster he controls and reducing the damage to zero. An energy shield forms around "Dystopia", diffusing the attack harmlessly as Aster explains that "Dreamer" is then Special Summoned from the Graveyard in Attack Position and allows the attacking monster to attack again. Yugo angrily mutters that since the battle ended, "Crystal Wing" loses the ATK it gained. Aster insists that he will hold on as long as it takes until Yugo remembers his true self. Yugo tells him to shut up; the second attack from "Crystal Wing" will destroy him. He attacks again, but Aster repeats that he will never give up – he learned a Duel's true beauty from Yuya. (In the dub, Aster comments that he was right, and Yugo protests that the Duel isn't over so he'll make Aster eat those words. Aster scoffs that Yugo is all talk and no heart, and no heart means that he has no chance to win.) Yusho thinks urgently that Yuya is about to be swallowed by darkness now, and he begs Aster to rescue him from that abyss (in the dub, he thinks that Aster's got this; if he defeats them here, he can prevent Z-ARC's resurrection).

Aster activates the Trap Card, "[[D-Fusion (anime)|D-Fusion]]", allowing him to Fusion Summon using monsters he controls. He fuses "Dystopia" and "Dreamer", chanting, "Hero from the world of darkness, hero of the dream world! Become one now and reign over the utopia's twilight! Fusion Summon! ''Come on!'' [[Destiny HERO - Dusktopia (anime)|Destiny HERO - Dusktopia]]!" The golden "[[HERO]]" appears with 3000 ATK, its radiance shining across the field, and Kite muses on "Dystopia" becoming "Dusktopia" as Aster vows that he won't let Z-ARC return, and he will rescue the two of them from the darkness, to change the land where the light of hope has been devastated into the desired land. He raises his hand in tandem with "Dusktopia", and Yugo rudely attacks "Dusktopia" with "Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon", reminding Aster that the effect of "Crystal Wing" will allow it to gain the ATK of the monster it battles. "Crystal Wing" rises through the hole in the ceiling and it increases to 6000 ATK as it zig-zags through the sky and attacks with "Crystal Cataclysmic Strike". Aster activates the effect of "Dusktopia", preventing it from being destroyed in battle this turn and reducing the battle damage to zero. "Dusktopia" rises into the sky and it glows brightly, bathing the area in its radiance. Yugo gasps in shock and he falters. Aster calls Yugo's name as Yuri scowls and Sora watches in shock. Yugo falls to the floor as the radiance fades. Aster calls his name, and then again, louder (in the dub, he asks, "You okay?" the second time).

"It's not Fusion, it's Yugo!" Yugo shouts (in the dub, he asks why wouldn't he be okay). Aster and Yusho smile in joy as they realize that Aster has done it, and Aster thinks that this is the true Yugo (in the dub, Kite thinks that he wasn't sure that Aster could pull it off). Yugo gets to his feet, admitting that that was dangerous; he almost forgot himself (in the dub, he states that he hopes he didn't go too crazy on them). He ends his turn and he turns to glare at Yuri, stating that he'll say it again; he'll defeat him for taking Rin away (in the dub, he warns Yuri that they have unfinished business).

Yuri, his eyes still faintly glowing, declares his turn and draws a Trap Card, "[[Extra Shave Reborn]]" (in the dub, he suggests that they finish their business). He adds it to his hand and then Summons "[[Predaplant Sarraceniant (anime)|Predaplant Sarraceniant]]". Aster states that after Yugo will come Yuri – he will make him smile (in the dub, he does not say this, instead wondering what Yuri can do with a 100 ATK monster). Yuri comments that it's too late for that, and he calls Aster scum, commenting that his body can't get enough of this (in the dub, Yuri cheerfully replies that he can do plenty, which is why he's the greatest and Aster isn't; so is he ready to lose?). The sky darkens as Yuri explains that "Super Polymerization" allows him to use monsters on either side of the field as Fusion Material, and lightning strikes again as he chooses to fuse "Sarraceniant", before pausing, asking if he's got Kite's name right, and then continuing, stating that he'll also be fusing the "Starving Venom" that he stole. "Starving Venom" dissipates, and it sheds its "Neo Galaxy-Eyes" guise as it and "Sarracenient" vanish into the depths of the Fusion portal. Yuri chants, "Poisonous dragon with hungry fangs! Sweet smelling flower that invites the abyss! Now become one, and indulge in whatever pleases you! Fusion Summon! Come forth! [[Level 10 Monster Cards|Level 10]]! [[Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon (anime)|Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon]]!" ("When you combine the viciously voracious venom of a dragon with the cunningness of a carnivorous plant, the result is toxically terrifying! I Fusion Summon Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon!" in the dub).

"Greedy Venom" appears with 3300 ATK, and Yuri immediately activates its effect, negating the effect of a monster on the field and reducing its ATK to zero. "Greedy Venom" glows a sickly green as Yuri chooses to negate "Dusktopia", and it blasts its mouths on tendrils at "Dusktopia". Yugo activates the effect of "Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon", negating the effect of "Greedy Venom" and destroying it. As "Greedy Venom" latches onto "Dusktopia", "Crystal Wing" blasts a beam of light at "Greedy Venom", causing it to dissolve into green particles and freeing "Dusktopia". Yugo adds that "Crystal Wing" will gain ATK equal to the destroyed monster's ATK until the end of the turn as "Crystal Wing" rises to 6300 ATK. He tells Yuri that he's finished now, but Yuri chides him, asking if he really thinks so, much to Yugo's shock.

A pool of venom distorts the ground in front of Yuri as he explains that when "Greedy Venom Fusion Dragon" is destroyed, it destroys every monster on the field and inflicts damage to their controllers equal to their ATK. Three streams of venom erupt from the pool, and Yusho gasps that they'll all be annihilated, but Aster thinks that one monster won't be. He activates the effect of "Dusktopia", preventing a monster from being destroyed by a card effect, and "Dusktopia" raises its hand, concentrating a sphere of light above its palm. Sora gasps, "only one monster?" as Aster begins to state which monster he will protect. Kite exchanges a glance with him and nods, and Aster declares that he will choose "Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon", declaring "Anastasis Gleam!" "Dusktopia" lowers its palm, and both it and "Neo Galaxy-Eyes" disintegrate, but "Crystal Wing" remains unharmed. Yugo calls Aster's name, and Aster tells Yugo that he'd better win before he and Kite are blasted away by the damage. They slam painfully into the walls, their LP falling to zero. Sora tries to get up and enter the Duel, but his injuries are still too severe. Aster's half of the "Smile World" card lands in front of Yusho, who picks it up and laments their loss and waste. Yugo grimly states that they didn't waste anything, and he vows once again to defeat Yuri.
