At [[SOL Technologies]], [[George Gore|a cloaked man]] sits in a dome with his head enclosed in VR equipment as he breathes heavily. Outside, [[Risa Hayami|Hayami]] monitors his progress as a voice declares that the man won, and she's impressed that he won again. One of the staff states that the procedure is only about 70% finished, but their virtual [[Yusaku Fujiki|Playmaker]] stands no chance against him anymore. The other staffer disengages the lock and she ends the program, and the cloaked man emerges from his chamber.

[[Akira Zaizen]] walks into a warehouse at the harbor under the cover of moonlight, asking if Playmaker is here. A modulated voice tells him to stop and listen, warning Zaizen that if he turns around their business will be concluded and he will leave. Yusaku stands behind Zaizen in the entrance to the warehouse, concealed in a hoodie and with his [[Duel Disk]] at the ready. Zaizen asks if this is really Playmaker, and [[Ai]] tells him that he's too distrusting. Zaizen recognizes the voice of the [[DARK|Dark]] [[Ignis]] and he comments that it's unusual that they'd come to meet him. Yusaku explains that the Ignis are monitoring the network, and Ai agrees that they'd be detected if they traveled through the net. Zaizen asks if something has happened, and Ai praises his instincts. Yusaku states that he needs to tell Zaizen something about the [[Windy|two]] [[Lightning|new]] Ignis. Atop another warehouse, [[Theodore Hamilton|Theodore]] keeps an eye on Yusaku and Zaizen through binoculars, and he muses that this is [[Skye Zaizen]]'s brother. [[Flame (character)|Flame]] isn't happy about sharing their info with SOL Technologies, and Theodore notes that Flame's too distrusting and he asks if SOL didn't create Flame. Flame points out that SOL Technologies is now a lair of Bounty Hunters that are after them and they can't be trusted. Zaizen is shocked at what Playmaker just told him and he asks if this is the truth. Ai asks if Zaizen thinks they would lie, and Zaizen apologizes for being so shocked that the Ignis would declare war on humanity. Yusaku tells Zaizen that they plan to stop Lightning, but they don't know how he'll attack them and the Ignis may cause even greater damage to [[LINK VRAINS]] than the [[Tower of Hanoi]] did. Zaizen is shocked at such a notion, and Ai and Yusaku point out that in that case, Zaizen will be the only one capable of saving LINK VRAINS and they'll be counting on him. Zaizen realizes that they came to warn him, but when he receives no response he calls Playmaker's name and turns around to find him gone.

The next day, Zaizen tells [[Emma Bessho|Emma]] and Skye at [[Emma's hideout]] that the Ignis are rebelling, much to Emma's surprise. Zaizen confirms that according to Playmaker's info, the [[LIGHT|Light]] Ignis, [[WIND|Wind]] Ignis and an A.I. named [[Bohman]] are enemies of mankind. Skye asks if the Ignis had a falling out, and Zaizen explains that it isn't so simple; the enemy Ignis want to conquer mankind right away. Skye is shocked that the Ignis want to conquer mankind, and Zaizen admits that ironically what the [[Knights of Hanoi]] warned them about is coming true. Emma cheerfully points out that they have allies in Ai and Flame, who coexist with humans and don't view them as the enemy. Zaizen states that the enemy Ignis intend to fight Playmaker's team, and Emma asks if the Ignis will defeat one another. Zaizen admits that they might face the worst outcome should Playmaker lose, but as Emma muses on that Skye points out that there are six Ignis and she asks about the [[Earth (character)|other]] [[Aqua (character)|two]]. Zaizen admits that he doesn't know where they went, but they seem to be neutral and he turns to leave, explaining that he's going back to work to recheck the security of LINK VRAINS. Emma tells him that they'll search for the remaining two Ignis; if they side with mankind, then they'll have the advantage in numbers. Skye muses on what could happen if they join the enemy, and Emma admits that she doesn't want to imagine it. Zaizen warns them not to do anything crazy and the girls agree as he leaves.

At [[Café Nom]], Ai calls Earth an idiot, lamenting that he never shows up when it's important. Flame adds that Aqua went missing before the [[Cyberse (world)|Cyberse]] was attacked, and Ai muses that he doesn't think the two of them would ally with Lightning. Flame points out that Lightning won't ignore those who don't obey him and Ai states that they have to find them quickly. Theodore states that they're in danger as Yusaku finishes typing, and he says [[Kal Kolter|Kolter's]] name. Kolter grins, telling them that it's finally complete. Ai asks if they found something, and Kolter explains that Earth often appeared in LINK VRAINS and that he and Yusaku identified suspicious traces. Yusaku suggests that Earth may be hiding somewhere among them. Ai is shocked at the number of traces, as they cover the entirety of LINK VRAINS and he asks if Earth has really been wandering around that much. Flame points out that knowing Earth, he's likely been searching for Aqua, and Ai agrees that Earth does take things seriously and that he'd search every blade of grass. Sure enough, Earth is soaring above the skies of LINK VRAINS on the wrist of his wooden avatar, using a wooden [[Duel Board]]. He notes that this is an uncommon sight and he wonders why it's like this. The lines on his body and his eyes glow as he scans LINK VRAINS, and he spots a structure that was invisible. He asks if something is there, and he heads towards the structure.

In the depths of the structure, Aqua waits inside a spherical cage reinforced with an energy sphere. Earth calls her name as his avatar dismisses its Duel Board and lands in a crouch next to the cage. Aqua asks if Earth came to save her, and Earth calls her by her name and tells her that he did. Aqua is surprised by the name Aqua, and Earth tells her that it's her name, asking her to call him Earth. Aqua repeats Earth's name slowly, and Earth steps forwards, vowing to save Aqua. He grabs the bars of her cage, and is immediately assaulted by the program's shocks. Aqua begs him to stop, but Earth stoutly reassures her that he's fine and that this is nothing. Screaming in exertion as his hands become discolored, Earth wrenches open the bars to Aqua's prison and then falls to his knees. Aqua asks if Earth is all right, and Earth reassures her that he is and suggests that they escape.

Playmaker and Soulburner are scouring the skies of LINK VRAINS, and Playmaker suggests to Soulburner that they split up. Soulburner agrees, heading down as Playmaker continues scouring the area they're in. As Earth and Aqua leave the hidden structure, Aqua begins healing Earth's hands and she states that she sees; the Cyberse was indeed destroyed as she'd thought. Earth asks if she knows something, and Aqua finishes healing his hands and she confirms that she does; the one who locked her up probably destroyed the Cyberse. She remembers finding Lightning in his cave, creating the "[[Judgment Arrows]]" card, and she realized what it was. Alerted to her presence, Lightning claimed that he was creating a new card to protect the Cyberse from mankind, but Aqua had promptly used her truth-detection powers, her eyes shining blue and Lightning admitted that it seemed pointless to hid it. Aqua noted that she'd sensed something dangerous from Lightning, and Lightning had admitted that she was the one he knew he should be worried about. He'd then imprisoned her, and Aqua had asked why Lightning was doing this, what was the point? Lightning had just transported her away, claiming that the Cyberse would be erased in order to further his plans and that he wouldn't let her interfere. In the present, Earth clutches his fist, vowing not to forgiven Lightning. Aqua whispers his name, but she suddenly senses something and she turns back, noting that they're being followed. Earth asks in shock if Lightning already found them, and Aqua explains that she isn't sensing the Light Ignis. The man in the hooded cape approaches them on a Duel Board, and as he does Kolter spots him on his screens and informs Playmaker and Soulburner that Earth appeared. He sends them Earth's location and urges them to get there immediately. Soulburner scowls that it's too far from him, so Playmaker tells them that he and Ai will go and he accelerates away.

Earth tries to evade the cloaked man, but is unable to lose him and Aqua protests that it's no good. Earth growls in frustration and he apologizes to Aqua before pushing her off his avatar and into the skies below as she screams his name. Earth asks her to flee and then looks back at the caped man; who promptly descends in pursuit of Aqua. Earth speeds after him, managing to get in front of the cloaked man and warn him that he's the man's opponent. The man smiles, admitting that he thought he'd deal with the easy one first, but he agrees to Duel. Playmaker and Ai catch up to them, and Ai recognizes Earth and calls his name. Earth is surprised to see Ai, but the cloaked man is ecstatic to see Playmaker. Playmaker asks who he is, and the man claims that he is a Bounty Hunter for SOL Technologies. Playmaker recognizes his voice in horror and he asks if it can be. The man throws aside his cloak - it's The Gore, but now thinner and dead-eyed. Playmaker and Ai can only gasp in utter shock as Gore states that he already challenged Earth to a Duel, but he'll deal with Playmaker afterwards. Playmaker grits his teeth, and Earth cuts in, insisting that he won't let Gore lay a hand on Aqua. They both declare "Speed Duel!" and accelerate forwards. Ai yelps that they've started their Duel, and he wonders why Gore has lost so much weight. Playmaker replies that something else is worrying him more, and Ai asks if he [[Link Sense|senses]] it too. Playmaker notes that it's something unfamiliar.

Gore tells Earth that he's going first, and at SOL Technologies, Zaizen asks why The Gore is there as he hasn't fully recovered yet. Hayami replies that it was direct orders from higher up, and Zaizen realizes that it was Queen. Emma and Skye receive the video from Akira, and Skye is shocked to see the Ignis is Dueling The Gore. Gore declares his turn, [[Set]]ting a monster and ending his turn, much to Ai's shock. He notes that it's not just Gore's appearance that has changed; his playstyle has as well. Playmaker wonders what happened to The Gore. Earth then declares his turn and draws, then he activates the [[Spell Card]] "[[Cost Down (later anime)|Cost Down]]" from his hand, [[discard]]ing a card to lower the [[Level]] of the "[[G Golem Rock Hammer]]" in his hand by 2, before proceeding to Summon the now-[[Level 4 Monster Cards|Level 4]] "Rock Hammer". He then activates the effect of "Rock Hammer", [[Tribute|Tributing]] it to [[Special Summon]] three "[[G Golem Token]]s" in [[Defense Position]]. He [[Summon chants in Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS|chants]] "Appear! The circuit that roars the land!" and [[Link Material|sets]] two of the Tokens to [[Link Summon]] the [[Link 2 Monster Cards|Link-2]] "[[G Golem Stubborn Menhir]]". Then he chants "Appear again! The circuit that roars the land!" and declares that the Summoning conditions are two [[Cyberse]] monsters, setting "Stubborn Menhir" and the third Token to Link Summon the Link-2 "[[G Golem Crystal Heart]]".

Playmaker is surprised that Earth used materials that could have Summoned a [[Link 3 Monster Cards|Link-3]] monster to Summon a Link-2, but Ai claims that it's a special card that Earth received from Aqua and that it's worth a Link-3. Earth then activates the effect of "G Golem Crystal Heart", Special Summoning an EARTH [[Link Monster]] from his [[Graveyard]] so that it is [[co-linked]] with "Crystal Heart". He revives "Stubborn Menhir", and he adds that when this effect is used, he places a [[G Golem Counter]] on "Crystal Heart", and for each G Golem Counter the EARTH monster that "Crystal Heart" points to gains 600 [[ATK]]. "Stubborn Menhir" rises to 2100 ATK, and then Earth activates its own effect, Special Summoning an EARTH monster that can be [[Normal Summon]]ed from his Graveyard with its effects negated, and he revives "Rock Hammer". Playmaker muses that he understands, and Gore comments that it may have seemed like a wasteful summoning method at first glance, but it was actually more efficient. Again, Earth chants "Appear! The circuit that roars the land!" and he declares that the Summoning conditions are at least two EARTH monsters, setting "Rock Hammer" and the Link-2 "Stubborn Menhir" in the [[Link Arrow]]s to Link Summon the Link-3 "[[G Golem Invalid Dolmen]]". "Crystal Heart" then sets itself in the chest of "Invalid Dolem", as Earth reminds Gore that "Invalid Dolmen" will gain 600 ATK per G Golem Counter. "Invalid Dolmen" powers up to 3400 ATK, and Gore reacts with mild interest. Ai cheers Earth on, claiming that his Deck is better than when he Dueled Playmaker. Earth Sets a card and declares battle, attacking Gore's Set monster with "Invalid Dolmen", which assembles its spikes into a larger one. Gore reveals that the monster he Set is "[[Dinowrestler Capaptera (later anime)|Dinowrestler Capaptera]]", which emerges from its card with its arms crossed with 0 [[DEF]], and Earth declares that the effect of "Invalid Dolmen" will allow it to inflict [[piercing]] battle damage as it blasts its assembled spike at "Capaptera". Gore activates the effect of "[[Dinowrestler Martial Ampelo (anime)|Dinowrestler Martial Ampelo]]" from his hand, sending it to the Graveyard as a "[[Dinowrestler]]" monster is battling a monster with higher ATK to prevent his monster's destruction and halve the battle damage he takes. The spike smashes into "Capaptera" and flings it away, and Gore falls to 2300 [[LP]]. Earth ends his turn.

Emma notes that Earth has the advantage and she admits that the Ignis are impressive. Skye makes up her mind and she walks away, and Emma calls her name. Skye tells her that she's going to LINK VRAINS, much to Emma's surprise, and Skye points out that she can't do anything from here. She asks Emma to stay and give her status updates, and a flustered Emma agrees. Skye states that she can't let Gore have those Ignis if they might side with them. Emma agrees that Skye is right, and Skye walks away. Emma smiles, commenting that Skye's matured. Blue Gal logs into LINK VRAINS, and she quickly accelerates away on her Duel Board.

Gore declares his turn and draws, then he activates the effect of "Capaptera" since Earth controls more monsters than he does, allowing him to send one monster Earth controls to the Graveyard. He chooses "Invalid Dolmen", but Earth replies that it's pointless; Gore's monsters can't affect his own while "Ivalid Dolmen" and "Crystal Heart" are co-linked. In that case, Gore Special Summons "[[Dinowrestler Pankratops (anime)|Dinowrestler Pankratops]]" from his hand. Ai is shocked by the [[Level 7 Monster Cards|Level 7 monster]], and Gore explains that he can Special Summon it when Earth controls more monsters than he does. Next he Normal Summons "[[Dinowrestler Eskrimamenchi]]", explaining that he can do so without [[Tribute]] when he controls a "Dinowrestler" monster. He chants, "Appear! The circuit to victory!" and he sets "Capaptera", "Eskrimamenchi" and "Pankratops" in the Link Arrows to link the Circuit and Link Summon the Link-3 "[[Dinowrestler King T Wrextle (anime)|Dinowrestler King T Wrextle]]". Playmaker observes that it's The Gore's [[Signature card|ace monster]]. Gore then activates the effect of "Capaptera" from his Graveyard as it was used to Link Summon a "Dinowrestler" monster, increasing that monster's ATK by 1000 until the end of the turn. "King T Wrextle" roars as it increases to 4000 ATK, and Gore declares battle, warning Earth that he can't activate Spell or Trap Cards when "King T Wrextle" battles. He orders it to rout "Crystal Heart", but Earth yells that he won't let Gore and he slams his fists together, as does "Invalid Dolmen", blocking "King T Wrextle's" punch. Gore scowls, and Earth explains that Gore must attack "Invalid Dolmen". He vows that he won't let Gore lay a finger on "Crystal Heart", and Ai cheers that Earth was able to prevent the destruction of "Crystal Heart".

But, as Playmaker notes, "King T Wrextle" had 4000 ATK, so it still destroys "Invalid Dolmen" and Ai screams as "Invalid Dolmen" explodes into stone shards. Earth is blasted backwards, his LP falling to 3400, but he activates the effect of "Invalid Dolmen" as it was destroyed, negating the effects of all cards Gore controls. Smoke envelops "King T Wrextle" and flings it backwards, shrouding it in a ghostly aura as Ai cheers that Earth was able to remove the effect of "King T Wrextle". Then Earth activates the Trap Card "[[Gravity Vision]]", which activates by targeting an EARTH Link Monster that was destroyed by battle and Gore's monster, Special Summoning a "[[G Golem Token]]" in Defense Position and increasing its DEF by 800 times the destroyed EARTH Link monster's Link Rating. "Invalid Dolmen" was Link-3, so it increases to 2400 DEF, and in addition, as long as Earth controls the "G Golem Token" Summoned via this effect, "King T Wrextle" loses ATK equal to the Token's DEF, and it can't attack a non-Token monster. "King T Wrextle" falls to 1600 ATK, and Ai cheers that Earth is impressive; now "King T Wrextle" can't get past his Token. Playmaker warily agrees that Earth's defense is strong, but why is The Gore so confident?

Gore comments that Earth is quite skilled, so he'll show him his new power. He declares "Expanding thought capabilities! [[Brain Hack]]!" and he begins screaming as electricity crackles over his body, much to Playmaker, Ai, and Earth's shock. Gore sees himself in a clustered plantspace, and Playmaker asks what Gore did. Gore's pupils and the edges of his irises glow yellow, and he activates the effect of "Dinowrestler Eskrimamenchi" from his Graveyard since Earth Special Summoned a monster during Gore's turn, adding it to his hand and then Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower "Dinowrestler" monster from his Graveyard. He Special Summons "Capaptera", and then he activates the [[Quick-Play Spell Card]], "[[Tyrant Dino Fusion (anime)|Tyrant Dino Fusion]]", allowing him to [[Fusion Summon]] by sending the required [[Fusion Material]]s from his field to the Graveyard. He fuses "Dinowrestler King T Wrextle" and "Capaptera", chanting "I feel the power rising. Awaken, T Wrextle! Become the tyrant that devours everything! Appear! [[Dinowrestler Chimera T Wrextle (anime)|Dinowrestler Chimera T Wrextle]]!" "Chimera T Wrextle" appears with 3500 ATK, and Gore explains that the effect of "Tyrant Dino Fusion" will prevent its destruction by battle or card effects once. "Chimera T Wrextle" roars, buffeting Earth, and Gore declares that he'll show them what he was yearning for; the power that surpasses humanity's domain.

He targets the Link-3 "Invalid Dolmen" and "King T Wrextle", then Special Summons a "G Golem Token" (0/0 → 2400) in Defense Position ("King T Wrextle": 4000 → 1600 ATK). During Gore's turn, as Earth Special Summoned a monster while "Eskrimamenchi" is in Gore's GY, Gore activates its effect, adding it to his hand, then targeting a Level 4 or lower "Dinowrestler" monster in his GY and Special Summoning it. He adds "Eskrimamenchi" from his GY to his hand, then targets and Special Summons the Level 3 "Capaptera" (1600/0). Gore activates the Quick-Play Spell Card "[[Tyrant Dino Fusion (anime)|Tyrant Dino Fusion]]", Fusion Summoning a "Dinowrestler" Fusion Monster from his Extra Deck using monsters he controls as Fusion Material, then the first time that face-up monster on the field would be destroyed by battle or card effect, it is not destroyed. He fuses "King T Wrextle" and "Capaptera" to Fusion Summon "[[Dinowrestler Chimera T Wrextle (anime)|Dinowrestler Chimera T Wrextle]]" (3500/0) to the Extra Monster Zone.
