This card's artwork is based on the artwork of "Dark Designator", a card used by Yami Bakura in the original Yu-Gi-Oh! anime.
- It is also based on the "Darkness Prey" Penalty Game Yami Bakura suffered during his Duel with Yami Marik. This involved him being consumed by darkness (consumed by the Shadow Realm in the dub) as he lost LP, fully fading away when he lost, but not before taunting Yami Marik as he vanished, similar to how "Curse Necrofear" is pointing menacingly at the observer.
