- This card can be searched by "Dogu", "Single Purchase", "Chaos Zone", "Exchange of Night and Day" and "Dark Flare Knight".
- Completely stop this card's negative effect with "Imperial Iron Wall".
- You can temporarily dodge this card's negative effect with "Book of Moon", "Ready for Intercepting", "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", or "Forbidden Chalice".
- Note that this card gains the original ATK of the monster it battles, not its current ATK. Beware when attacking monsters with low original ATK with effects that can boost it very high, such as "Great Maju Garzett".
- You can double this card's effect and inflict heavy damage with "Honest".
- To more easily Summon "Dark Flare Knight" to meet this card's Summoning condition:
- Use "Instant Fusion" to temporarily Summon "Flame Swordsman" for one turn, to avoid having to include Fusion Material Monsters for "Flame Swordsman" in your Deck.
- Use "The Dark - Hex-Sealed Fusion" to both act as a substitute for "Dark Magician" and avoid having to wait for "Polymerization". "Elemental HERO Prisma" can also aid in Fusion Summoning.
- Use "The Eye of Timaeus" to Summon "Dark Flare Knight" without running "Flame Swordsman" in your Deck.
- You can intentionally have "Dark Flare Knight" destroy itself in battle to Summon this card (note that its effect reduces your battle damage to 0). To get a monster stronger than "Dark Flare Knight" to your opponent's side of the field, you can use "Lava Golem" to remove an opponent's troublesome monster(s) or have "Dark Flare Knight" simultaneously weaken and protect itself with "Forbidden Lance".
- This card is a dead draw, but can be used as a fairly strong Fusion Material for "Power Bond" when Summoning "UFOroid Fighter".
- Use "Battle Mania" or "Staunch Defender" to force your opponent to attack this card, triggering its effect and inflicting a huge amount of battle damage as well as destroying your opponent's monsters.
- Greatly boost this card's ATK (and increase the damage it can do with its effect) through "Assault Armor", "Megamorph", or "Magnum Shield".
