Alright, since most of us are following, I'll just say what I have in mind. I'm thinking that we should split Decks for Free! into two pages. This should help with the huge wait that requesters have after posting a deck. I say that we make all the deck revisions on one page and all the original deck requests on another. Does anyone agree? I'd need you to volunteer for this. --Tantara (talk) 21:25, July 10, 2010 (UTC)

What i think we should do is enforce the rules a little more harshly... and immediately delete any requests that break the rules and do not respond after the warning.
 +
Also, archive decks as soon as they are finished (i'm not sure how archives work so this may not be possible).
 +
The majority of posts there are abandon requests.
 +
Also, i notice that lots of people editing it don't have accounts. THis makes it hard to notify them. So another rule should be made stating that you must be signed in to make a request. Tell me what you think =] ~<span style="color:black;"> TSD, The Envoy Of </span> <span style="color:yellow;"> Light </span> <span style="color:black;"> and </span> <span style="color:gray"> Darkness </span>~ 03:03, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

This is the trial deck that I worked without a budget. --Flushy 12:04, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
+
also, the archives are VERY inconvinient to go through... instead, i recommend a deck gallery/ies... the archives take a long to go through... and i have trouble finding decks there even if i'm looking for them. Anyway, that's all i have to say... ~<span style="color:black;"> TSD, The Envoy Of </span> <span style="color:yellow;"> Light </span> <span style="color:black;"> and </span> <span style="color:gray"> Darkness </span>~ 03:12, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

* This could be beter. 3 REDMD is mandatory, you only used two and you have 8 dumping cards without Necro Gardnas. However, Raigeki Break is a nice touch, very OCG style. I like that. Anyways, I'll tell BEWK to look at this. --Tantara (talk) 00:35, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

::Tantara is right, 3 Darkness Metal Dragons are needed, but otherwise, it is a fine build. A few edits would help, (i.e. -1 Grepher, +1 Metal Dragon), but it is a definite improvement.
+
* If we split the page and had one deckmaker do what I do and do the oldest requests, it should make the process go a lot faster.
 +
Think of it as taking one cup of water, pouring it into two cups, and then having a person drink each. Having another person working on the oldest requests should make the process go a lot faster. Hope that makes sense to you...
 +
Anyways, I guess the gallery idea could work. It'd take a lot of work though. In the archives, just ctrl+F the deck you're looking for. I put a rule on the list in which we're supposed to delete requests that don't follow the rules immediately... You CAN delete them on sight. The majority of requests are abandoned because we take too long in getting to them... it's our fault. And if we make it so that you have to have an account, we'll lose half of our requesters. --Tantara (talk) 17:53, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

I know I'm not a deck-builder type person, but why not create archive page, call it finished, and put all finished decks in it, and make a list at the top of the Decks for Free page that lists the finished decks?  It would also make for a good time to clear out abandoned/ incorrectly done requests, and the page would be a lot shorter for all of the deckbuilders to navigate. *I still believe that it is a good idea to prevent requests from anonymous editors... because we can't notify them if. It's easy to make an account anyway, and it would help lessen the number of requests. Right now, the number of requests we have is huge... and we have 5-7 deckbuilders (i forgot how many)...
* Graceful Charity
+
*I believe that if someone is so unobservant that they can't read the rules before making a request, they shouldn't be helped and the request should be deleted without a warning. If there is anything that would be confusing to a new user, then we can give clear instructions as to how to do it.
* Heavy Storm

*As for the deck gallery, any deckbuilder that makes a deck can easily move a finished deck to the gallery when it is finished. It would also be nice to have it in alphabetical order (not completely, just by the first letter)

If you're doing a gallery, why not make it the main way of storing old decks? Have each post on the page have the deck, its intended use, the person it was originally for, and have the deckbuilder sign it. After a while, it could replace the archives, and make the deckbuilder's jobs easier by making people who want decks made be able to search the gallery easily.  Twosideddragon is right; i originally tried to look through the archives, but got confuzzled... but that might just be because the whole computer/internets thing always seems to be working against me..... :/ .... * Mmm, I'm kind of considering the account thing. It'd be good for the wikia, too, to have more users. And TwosidedDragon, you CAN delete those posts on sight. I added that to the list a long time ago (doesn't do much as we're still bogged down). I'm up for the Deck Gallery thing, I guess. The only thing about the Deck Gallery is that people looking through the archives won't be able to see what the requester asked. The account thing should cut down our list by a lot... I'd start on the Deck Gallery, but I have too poor an internet, right now. --Tantara (talk) 22:57, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

* I'm interested in the fact that he went with Bazoo. I was thinking that he'd go the Moja Drain, route. The trap lineup is decent, I'd add in a COTH and maybe a Trap Dustshoot, here. The utilization of Monarchs instead of, say, Giant Rat to fill up the grave tells me something about his preferences. Something I notice here is the inclusion of Pot of Avarice despite the heavy use of Bazoo, a very contradictory choice. All in all, A- --Tantara (talk) 00:29, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Ok, I got this idea by fusing Light attributed zombie Counterparts with Dark-based Zombies. Hence, Chaos appeared. How would you guys like it? Dark or light, or better still,Chaos. That's far too random. Hey, if you have noticed, I used the same trap set-up all and all over again, there's a reason for it. Most decks are graveyard based as you can notice. Hence, Raigeki Break is frequently used to clear all sorts of obstacles if I happen to have something I want to dump something in to the graveyard from my hand. Raigeki Break is preferred over Lightning Vortex because it is not a trap card, its too situational and cant be used in the Opponent's turn, Raigeki break is far too flexible. Raigeki Break is chosed over PWWB because the card is not really destroyed, it only slows the opponent down, and he can do it all over again. Tribute monsters aren't really the in thing now. Worse still, monarchs can reuse their effects again. Rituals are rising, but still cliche. And Brionac is just way easy to summon. Raigeki Break is chose over Hand Destruction as it is a -1 for you, but not really for the opponent. Your opponent renews his hand.  --Flushy 09:38, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Ideas
: Your entire card line-up could could use some refining, but it's not a bad deck. Your logic is mostly solid, and you will need that in Decks for Free!.
+
Done with my Archive as well. Also, I have a few more suggestions that we could add...

* I would've added a couple of Necro Gardna to take advantage of Burial, but that's just personal preference. Pretty good build. The biggest flaw I see is that there is no Call of the Haunted. In a zombie deck. --Tantara (talk) 01:23, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
+
Formats: I think that we should put something at the top of each Deck Gallery that says "Is the deck you selected not in the right Format? Just go to the Talk Page of any deckbuilder, and they'll help you adjust the deck to the proper Format."

Dark Armed Relinquish - Thorin7
+
Misleading Names/Colors: This isn't much of a big deal, but I'd enjoy seeing it happen. The Deck Galleries are one big rainbow right now, and I think it would be much easier if we erased all of the colors from the Deck Templates. Granted, it wouldn't be as pretty, but I think it would be much easier to read. In addition, I think some of the deck names are a bit misleading. Usually, we deckbuilders just copy the name of the original deck and repost it with "-- TANTARA" or "-- AKIZA". However, I saw a "Revenge of Blue-Eyes" deck that Tantara had completed, and I felt that it should be considered more of a "Vanilla Skill Drain" deck. Putting it under the "B" category may be misleading to someone looking for an actual Blue-Eyes White Dragon based deck. These changes probably aren't necessary, but I feel that it could be a project to work on after everything else is finished.--Akiza Izayoi (talk • contribs) 16:28, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
Though it has been worked on, more ideas can be generated from this unique idea.

* And I am officially back! I was in Turkey when i posted and I didn't have my laptop on me so I borrowed my friend's for a minute to check on the Wikia. Sorry about questioning Blue Eyes. I will definitely mind myself but I felt that BEWK's deck really wasn't up to par. I play Gadget and Machina and have a good amount of experience in most variants. I have played the standard Machina Gadget, Armed Gadget, 5th Gadget, and Machina Beatdown and dabbled in Monarch and Dimensional Gadgets as well.

On that note, I want to get to my suggestion. I propose that we assign each deckbuilder a position based on their area of expertise, similar to the TCG Mastermind Program I'm sure you are familiar with as well Tantara. Rogue decks can be taken based on their specifications and similarity to a deckbuilder's position including mechanics and engines. Though there aren't enough Deckbuilders to assign an archetype each, we will have to take on multiple types. BEWK is adept at Gladiator Beasts and X-Sabers, Tantara @ Fairies, TSD @ Dragons (Disaster and Hopeless), Akiza @ Plants, and I @ Machina/Gadgets, Plants (stands to be seen compared to Akiza), and various STUN decks I have studied. Remind me If I've forgotten any though these are the primary areas I'm aware of. We can assign seconds if you all approve and we can start recruiting people based on their specialties.

Although it's true that we have our own areas of expertise, I believe that it would be simpler to just refer the User to which deckbuilder has that area covered. * For example, if a User requested a Gladiator Beast deck, we could simply refer him/her to BEWK. This way, other deckbuilders would have the oppertunity to take the request if they wanted to venture into an unknown archetype and gain experience there. So, if my GB deck wasn't up to par, then BEWK could take over.--Akiza Izayoi (talk • contribs) 17:25, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

* You can venture into unknown archetypes on your own time. Players come to us for serious help. If there isn't anyone on the team who can take a request it can be up for grabs to the person who thinks they can really handle it and produce something decent. If a builder has too much on his hands, then you can ask to take a request off their hands. * Please try not to be offensive to BEWK, Martyn. I agree with Akiza, it'd be better for the deckmaker most adept at that deck to take the request. Perhaps we can make a subsection on each duelists stating their specific areas of experience, though this may make people consider the deckmaker inexperienced if they take a deck out of their area of speciality. The mastermind idea is ok for TCGplayer, but this is a small forum and we dont want too much trouble. Remember we have the Deck Galleries if someone requests a mainstream deck; we're mainly dealing with rogue/new decks.. and there are too many deck areas to assign to individual duelists. --Tantara (talk) 17:38, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

Now, for those of you who are on our list of members. There has been a drastic drop in the activity on our forum, with only a minute number of people (Tantara and I, with the occasional visit from NYkid) ever posting reguarly anymore. I blame nobody at all, and I don't hold anybody personally accountable. We all have lives of our own, and we have our own choices. I hold no resentment towards anyone who wishes to leave the forum for whatever reason. However, I don't wish to see this forum dying off anytime soon. It is for this reason that I recommend we attempt to start something that I believe the title of the post reflects nicely; a recruiting drive.

The meaning of Relinquished has the same as sacrificed. Hence, the name of the deck is Sacrificial Ritual. This is a graveyard-based ritual deck. Enough said. I added in Grinder Golem/Lava Golem, so that Relinquished can catch it if the opponent does not have enough powerful monsters. Necro Gardna is added in to protect monsters. --Flushy 02:01, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

* I'm going to have to keep it occasional. I've started a partnership with a deckbuilder on TCG, am part of a team and make banners for forum users. As for recruits, the wikia is devoid of builders. * It looks decent to me, I'd play a few copies of Burial from a Different Dimension over Ritual Cage. This type of deck doesn't give you much manuevering room, I think it looks pretty good. * I noticed you joined Shinjuko Studios. I've never really gotten the point of banners, but alright. The Wikia is filled with newbies, most of the more experienced builders have moved on. I really don't see any possible fix to this situation at the moment. I kind of wish we could like... import users from Pojo or TCGplayer... I like the Wikia's format better, with all the Information right there, but the people on this forum are slightly disappointing; most are either outright rude or have no idea what they're doing. Anyways, NYKid, would you mine fishing around on your contacts on the TCGplayer and see if anyone'd be interested in this? --Tantara (talk) 23:35, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

* Even though i am the youngest and newest on the team i still feel i should assert myself as part of the team. I know taht this sounds really arrogant but it is not. I just want to say that i am here and i plan to be active. All of that crap aside, i think that the deck is good. It looks smooth and has a certain degree of aggressiveness. What i do not see is originality. I dont like to see every deck be a deck that is this generic. I mean, come on. All we are seeing these days is Dark Grepher, DAD, Armageddon Knight, and Gorz. Dont get me wrong, they are great cards but everyone uses them. I am ok with DAD because he is very powerful and is an easy win condition that should be added to most DARK decks. But Gorz and Grepher. I mean, there was so much room for originality in this deck but you went with Grepher and Necro Gardna and Armageddon, which is ok but he uses too many resources. This is why we see so little originality these days. Because duelists use the same outline for DARK decks: Grepher, Gorz, Necro, DAD, and Armageddon! There was room to do anything you want in the deck but you didnt. I understand that these are trials and you want to play it safe but you cant give everybody the same thing when something else works just as good. Besides this, there is a major flaw in the deck: BEsides SOlemn and maybe Ritual Cage, you do not have a way to protect Quishie. You need some Dark Bribes so that he isnt Bottomlessed when summoned or destroyed by a mirror force and anything else. Besides that, Ritual Cage is useless because Quishie's effect delivers the battle damage you take from him to your opponent and not you so there isn't a need for it. I am sorry if this sounds harsh but you could have done more with the deck than using all these cards that are -1's when Quishie is already a -3 right there. If i had to rate this it would be a 6-6.5 out of 10 because you are dumping way too much in the grave for my opinion when you cant use it besides Necro, Ritual Cage is useless, You cant protect Quishie, Preparation of Rites is only used after you summon a Quishie, Overall there were better card choiches for some of those slots and Originality wasnt there for me. Unfortunately, 6.5 is not a good score to me, it is average. You deserve that score mainly because the deck is aggressive and somewhat powerful as well as it was original that you go for Grinder Golem or Lava Golem but the problem with that is that they are dead draws if Quishie is destroyed and only Lava can be used to help you win because of his burn effect. Like i said, this deck needs to give Quishie more protection and needs to make up for Quishie's -3 instead of adding to it. Sorry but that is what i think and i will stand by it. I also have two things to add: 1. Quishie is about control, and burning your opponent using his effect so it isnt really about taking strong monsters from him. It would be good to steal a DAD if you could but it isnt essential so you cant rely on Relinquished only. 2. What do you all think about my version of the deck? *What I want to say is, Protection, is what I will think of less. I made this deck purely for aggro purposes. Not really for control. If you covered yourself too well, you will find out that you will have less attacking space. I would have added in 3 Pollinosis for your case. It sounded harsh, but I will prove to you that I'm a more complicated deck maker than anybody else, than what you think originally. * Pollinosis is too much because the deck isnt used to summon Plants from the grave at all. Only limit Reverse and Call of the Haunted are used for that which are used to summon Lonefire for its effect. I used Solemn and Dark bribe instead of Pollinosis and Tytannial is used instead of it anyway. Quishie is about control and he is suited to a playstyle a little slower than what you are thinking of so that is why i used him the way i did. Sorry if i sounded harsh but i need to see originality and with Quishie you had so much room to show it but you didnt. Not all decks are Aggro, especially Quishie ones that are designed for control, not one shot Aggro. Sorry:/ NYKid8295 15:36, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

*You failed to realize that the tokens are plant tokens, generated by Black Garden. Maybe 3 Pollinosis is too much, but 2 is fair. By having much aggro decks in the current meta game, from Dark Armed Dragon to Colossal Fighter, Relinquished gains more power by catching them. Its not control, but, turn their own force against them. That's the theme and real meaning behind using Relinquished. Its a fast-paced game, evolving more and faster than you think. I did not mean that your deck was bad, but we were taking different directions. Which is like, DUH. --Flushy 15:43, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

Phantom of Chaos + Norleras. Nuff said. For this OTK set-up, we need Clock Tower Prison, with 4 counters. But Dread Servant is excluded because its slow, and when its effect triggers wrongly, it will turn the whole thing into a disaster instead of an OTK. I played 3 Terraforming instead of 2, or none, for faster field searching, and when I already have a Clock Tower Prison, Terraforming can be used for Summoner Monk's effect. --Flushy 04:24, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

Peter, you don't need to go getting people to join in making the decks. Thank you for your interest. Jon Kovacs (talk contribs) 16:51, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

* Here i see much better use of your cards and i like it. It is pretty fast. You might want to add another Phantom to set up the otk faster but still good. You did better on this. I still dont say that this is original though. I like out of the box, cool, awesome, i-wish-i-thought-of-that originality. One or two original cards arent enough to me but i guess that isnt everything in TCG's but innovation is still key and shows you think of all possible directions. I also think that in a help forum like this you need to be original and not give customers builds like you gave to everybody else. You can only think of so many but you have to be unique so that the customer will have fun too. NYKid8295 15:40, December 16, 2009 (UTC)

Okay then, I just thought it might ease the pressure off you guys is all, I mean they can't build the same sort of decks that you guys can but they do build competetive decks, even if it is only at a local.. Due to the "Click here to start a new request" link not being updated after the page was renamed, many people have added new requests onto the end of the redirect. You can see them here. I think that page should be blanked to just the redirect anyway. Before doing that should the requests posted there be copied over to this page? Some of them are a month old. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:19, September 14, 2011 (UTC)

:That's quite unfortunate, I feel bad that nobody realized this sooner. Looking through the page, however, I recognize some of the requests and I know some of them were completed, but I'm also quite certain that many were not. It's quite a dilemma... The best thing to do may be to contact each of the requesters individually, explain what happened, and ask if they still want the deck made, in which case they can post a new request. Past experience has shown that many who get no response within a week abandon their request (I received no response). If only those who are still interested have their requests transferred, it will save a lot of time and space. I'm willing to personally contact all of them. Deckbuilder's Discussion[edit]

Alright, let me know when you've watched this page (by posting on the page). If you all watch this page, it should be a lot easier to communicate with you all at once. --Tantara (talk) 22:27, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

Done. --Blue (Talk) 23:40, July 4, 2010 (UTC)
I'm Following. -bewk 01:24, July 5, 2010 (UTC)
Same here. Havent been on the wikia for a while. Took a couple of requests. ~NYKid 80.78.79.153 (talk) 17:04, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

Hey NYKid, I've seen a lot of your stuff on TCGplayer. Anyways, I'll wait till everyone posts here. I have an idea that I'd like to bring up. --Tantara (talk) 20:38, July 5, 2010 (UTC)

Here as well.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 01:02, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

Mmm... The other deckbuilders better show up soon. Anyways, NYKid, don't contradict a deckbuilder on the actual thread, it makes the deckbuilder look bad. Put it on the deckbuilder's talk page and let them fix it. --Tantara (talk) 21:09, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

TwosidedDragon hasn't been on since the 25'th of June, and Flushy since March. I don't think they'll be on anytime soon...--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 22:22, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

  • Meh, I'll remove Flushy. I'll give TwosidedDragon a chance though. Does anyone know anyone who might like to join us (that's good?) we need someone to help us pick up the pace, here. --Tantara (talk) 22:43, July 7, 2010 (UTC)

I am somewhat good. I could be a reserve or something.I know i posted for help on an Occult Deck but thats only because my cousin described one to me and i couldnt understand what cards would go into a deck with undead creatures but no zombies. So, please consider me. P.S. My specialty is decks that revolve around the storyline of a set of cards.EX. Gigobyte Family.Mulstrath (talkcontribs) 01:42, August 18, 2010 (UTC)

I'll be gone for the next four days. -bewk 18:19, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry, i'm still here... I have neglected to tell anyone that i would be gone for about a little while. Very sorry i didn't update. Anyway, i shall continue deckbuilding as soon as i get the time. I'm also making headway on my alien deck guide... but i'll save that for the deck guide forum ~ TSD, The Envoy Of Light and Darkness ~ 21:15, July 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • I don't quite understand how that would help speed up the process... i feel that it would just overcomplicate things...

What i think we should do is enforce the rules a little more harshly... and immediately delete any requests that break the rules and do not respond after the warning. Also, archive decks as soon as they are finished (i'm not sure how archives work so this may not be possible). The majority of posts there are abandon requests. Also, i notice that lots of people editing it don't have accounts. THis makes it hard to notify them. So another rule should be made stating that you must be signed in to make a request. Tell me what you think =] ~ TSD, The Envoy Of Light and Darkness ~ 03:03, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

also, the archives are VERY inconvinient to go through... instead, i recommend a deck gallery/ies... the archives take a long to go through... and i have trouble finding decks there even if i'm looking for them. Anyway, that's all i have to say... ~ TSD, The Envoy Of Light and Darkness ~ 03:12, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • If we split the page and had one deckmaker do what I do and do the oldest requests, it should make the process go a lot faster.

Think of it as taking one cup of water, pouring it into two cups, and then having a person drink each. Having another person working on the oldest requests should make the process go a lot faster. Hope that makes sense to you...

Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 18:20, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • I still believe that it is a good idea to prevent requests from anonymous editors... because we can't notify them if. It's easy to make an account anyway, and it would help lessen the number of requests. Right now, the number of requests we have is huge... and we have 5-7 deckbuilders (i forgot how many)...
  • I believe that if someone is so unobservant that they can't read the rules before making a request, they shouldn't be helped and the request should be deleted without a warning. If there is anything that would be confusing to a new user, then we can give clear instructions as to how to do it.
  • As for the deck gallery, any deckbuilder that makes a deck can easily move a finished deck to the gallery when it is finished. It would also be nice to have it in alphabetical order (not completely, just by the first letter)

The archives are confusing and annoying. Yes, i know that cntrl + F makes it easier, but there are 6 archives and it takes lots of time to find the deck you are looking for. (i know from experience)

    • My propositions in the nutshell:
  1. You must have a yugioh wikia account to make a request
  2. Requests that break the rules will be deleted without warning
  3. deck gallery in addition to the archive. Gallery A-J, K-T, U-Z. Decks placed in it as soon as made... shouln't be too hard right?

If you're doing a gallery, why not make it the main way of storing old decks? Have each post on the page have the deck, its intended use, the person it was originally for, and have the deckbuilder sign it. After a while, it could replace the archives, and make the deckbuilder's jobs easier by making people who want decks made be able to search the gallery easily. Twosideddragon is right; i originally tried to look through the archives, but got confuzzled... but that might just be because the whole computer/internets thing always seems to be working against me..... :/ .... I'll leave now.. sorry.. Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 20:39, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

  • Mmm, I'm kind of considering the account thing.
    • Well, i noticed that we usually give them a warning before deleting... and then it seems to stay there for a long time before being deleted. User:TwosidedDragon (forgot to sign in)

New things[edit]

  • You may delete all requests that don't follow the rules immediately
  • Please put ---TAKEN or ---FINISHED in the title of every request you do/finish.

thanks, --Tantara (talk) 23:13, July 11, 2010 (UTC)

I'm all for the Deck Gallery. If you can get it up and started, I'll work on moving the decks to the page. I'm also in support of needing an account to make a request.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 04:11, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

The account required thing sounds neat. I'm for that. -bewk 04:19, July 12, 2010 (UTC)
  • I'll start this^^^ It'll let all the requesters know that they have to register. This should help get rid of any abandoned requests, as well. --Tantara (talk) 20:03, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

Deck Galleries[edit]

lol i think i screwed it up... but it works nevertheless... i recommend that each of us is assigned to move all of the decks in one of the archives to the galleries. Mainly because this will take a lot of time for one single person to do... so yeah :P

  • Tantara - archive 1 (done)
  • Akiza - archive 2 (done)
  • Bewk - archive 3 (done)
  • Me - archive 4 (done)
  • Blue - archive 5 (done
  • Martyn - archive 6 (done)

Ideas[edit]

Done with my Archive as well. Also, I have a few more suggestions that we could add...

Formats: I think that we should put something at the top of each Deck Gallery that says "Is the deck you selected not in the right Format? Just go to the Talk Page of any deckbuilder, and they'll help you adjust the deck to the proper Format."

These changes probably aren't necessary, but I feel that it could be a project to work on after everything else is finished.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 16:28, July 12, 2010 (UTC)

  • And I am officially back!

In response to other ideas, I don't believe seperating the original into two threads would help, rather it would complicate matters.

Names and colors don't really matter but the separate Archives are nice. NYKid8295 (talkcontribs) 16:50, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

So, if my GB deck wasn't up to par, then BEWK could take over.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 17:25, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • You can venture into unknown archetypes on your own time. Players come to us for serious help. If there isn't anyone on the team who can take a request it can be up for grabs to the person who thinks they can really handle it and produce something decent. If a builder has too much on his hands, then you can ask to take a request off their hands. NYKid8295 (talkcontribs) 17:33, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
  • Please try not to be offensive to BEWK, Martyn.

Deck Galleries[edit]

Should I add them to the main thread? I don't believe they're finished yet. If you made a deck in there's that unsigned, sign it please. --Tantara (talk) 17:42, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

I didn't find his comment offensive. My first try at Machina Gadgets ought to be rough around the edges. -bewk 17:45, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
  • You mean you agree with me? I said that. Akiza said we should let deckbuilders venture into archetypes they are unfamiliar with. I don't remember seeing any decent meta decks built on the thread for this format and formats are always changing so archives aren't always up to date. I also wasn't trying to offend BEWK, merely trying to point out some card choices I thought were poor due to my experience with the archetype. BTW, are you on AIM? Sign in so we can talk =) NYKid8295 (talkcontribs) 17:54, July 16, 2010 (UTC)
  • Thanks for understanding Blue Eyes =) I wasn't trying to be offensive but Peacekeeper really S-U-C-K-S... so slow... NYKid8295 (talkcontribs) 18:05, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think all of the Deck Galleries are finished quite yet. NYKid has to do his, and someone could do Bluedog's if he doesn't show up soon.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 18:10, July 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • Hey everyone, i'm very sorry i haven't been bulding any decks lately, i've just had soooo much on my plate lately i just haven't found time for deckbuilding.

Thanks[edit]

I'd like to thank Akiza for buckling down and doing half of the requests on the Decks for Free! page. Good work haha --Tantara (talk) 14:34, July 27, 2010 (UTC)

It was my pleasure.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 22:15, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
  • I have been on back to back vacations the whole month so I only got down to one request. I'm also likely to move this month. We just bought a really nice place in what you'd probably call downtown of the city so I'll be moving late August, early September. I also have to start studying for big exams early Spring which will define my two year's work over my classes. On the upside, I convinced my mom to give me a little gaming station in my room. LCD, Speakers + Wii & 360 = Good times =D That's pretty much my life through to the end of sophmore year. Can't wait...

I see a couple of decks I want to take so I will get to those starting saturday. I'm in Saranda, southern part of Albania where you can literally see the city lights of two Greek islands, at the beach, and I will be back on Saturday so I can get to that, my guide and updating my page with my new decks. Watch out for those and leave thoughts on my talk guys. So that's my monthly update... NYKid8295 (talkcontribs) 21:51, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

Ok, because i had nothing better to do at the time, i decided to move the remaining decks in archives 5 and 6 to the galleries. So i'll put them on the main page once i get the green light =P Also, everytime anyone finishes a deck, please copy it to the gallery. Thank you. TwosidedDragon~ 03:18, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

  • If all the decks are there, you're good to go. I may organize them a bit more later, but they're good how they are. Thanks, TwosidedDragon. --Tantara (talk) 03:42, July 31, 2010 (UTC)
  • Ok, the galleries are up now... i can see you are already on it Tantara. 98.211.13.185 (talk) 05:34, July 31, 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations, All[edit]

Alright, so a week from today is the 1 year anniversary of the creation of Decks for Free! and on top of that, we're the first stickied topic wikia! I just wanted to congratulate and thank you all for your hard work. --Tantara (talk) 04:09, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

No problem. It's been fun working here. -bewk 16:16, August 17, 2010 (UTC)

I agree with BEWK. It's also been fun to be a part of a greater purpose on the Wikia other than just throwing my ideas onto the Deck Help forum for boredum purposes.--Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 00:36, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

New Deck Builder[edit]

Hello all. I'm Hpboy111, I've just recently become a deck builder. It's a pleasure to meet you all and I look forward to working with all of you in the future. Hpboy111 (talkcontribs) 19:48, August 20, 2010 (UTC)

  • Yes, its fun being a deckbuilder. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside... Hpboy111, too formal. Someone pass him the bong. Make sure you keep the decks tight though. Recently got word from friends of mine on TCGplayer that they think half the decks are bull. Looking at some, seems like it. Not naming names neither complimenting myself. Just to let you all know -NYKid

I was being formal because its always good to make a good first impretion. Sorry if I seemed boring, but Im fun once you get to know me :). And half of what decks? The ones on Decks for Free? Hpboy111 (talkcontribs) 21:36, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

  • NYKidd, can you give me the names of your friends? I'd like to talk to them.. And you've got to remember that we've built decks for dozens and dozens of people. And some of the requests we get have just no synergy whatsoever... Some of the decks we make are forced to be bull by those who request them. --Tantara (talk) 00:29, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

Hey guys... this is TwosidedDragon... i just wanted to let you know that i won't be on here for a while... like a month or two... i'm thinking about quitting DFF altogether anyways. I've gone through a lot recently and i just don't seem to have time for this anymore. Furthermore my hard drive just crashed and i can't get on the internet... (i'm on someone elses computer obviously) 98.211.13.185 (talk) 03:36, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

  • I know Tan. I explained that to them. But from what I can tell, certain decks have poor card choices even I can see. Like I said I don't want to name names and it's not my place because I haven't been active and building enough decks to even begin questioning people for their work when I could have done it myself. I'm just letting you guys know. ~NYKid

I'd like to join your group of building decks[edit]

Hi my name is Hopeless Dragon Lord JZX and I'd like to join your group of deck builders. The reason that I want to join your group is because you guys make recipes that people haven't really thought of. I also made some decks of my own like the psychic zombies that I posted up in the deck galleries but then got deleted or the dark stardust assault deck that I made up and also posted it up but also got deleted but should be around in the wikia as a file. So please send me a message leting me know if I'm in or out. This is the link to my page User:Hopeless Dragon Lord JZX. You can look at those two decks that I mentioned in here.

  • I think I'm going to discount you completely as you didn't think to read the description of the thread you're trying to join. >_> sorry, I've had so many people like you ask. I'm not going to bother with you if you won't even bother to read the directions. --Tantara (talk) 00:45, August 31, 2010 (UTC)

Serious Recruiting Drive[edit]

Before I say anything in detail; this is not the place to recruit yourself, or nominate yourself as a choice to become a deckbuilder. If you ask, you won't be selected at all, for those of you reading this who aren't on our members list.

I'm relatively aware that the number of Users on this wikia who can/are willing to build decks for other users are few and far between, but i'd still like to give it an honest shot. If you know anyone who can efficiently build decks and visits this wikia frequently, please feel free to show them around here, and take a trial deck. Even if you're only experianced in one or two types of decks, show us the link to your user page. We'll most likely accept you if your deckbuilding skill is up to par. Even if you're not accepted the first time, the door is always open to retry.

Please give a list of Users below, or give them a shout on their Talk Pages for us.Akiza Izayoi (talkcontribs) 00:55, September 10, 2010 (UTC)

  • I'm going to have to keep it occasional. I've started a partnership with a deckbuilder on TCG, am part of a team and make banners for forum users. As for recruits, the wikia is devoid of builders. BEWK and Dog haven't been active since I left and are new recruits seem lacking. Will try to drop in more often. -NYKid
  • I noticed you joined Shinjuko Studios.
  • Yeah sorry that I haven't been on much. My mom decided to change the security settings on my computer so now I have trouble getting on Decks for Free. I still get on whenever I can but I realise I haven't been much help since joining. Sorry about that. Hpboy111 (talkcontribs) 18:21, October 13, 2010 (UTC)

Archives[edit]

Would you guys like me to archive the completed posts on the main page of the forum to save you guys the trouble? Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 23:56, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

  • We're trying to use the new Deck Gallery feature, though if you would... that'd be really kind and helpful of you. If you do, thanks! ---Tantara (talk) 02:23, September 15, 2010 (UTC)
  • Just letting you guys know that I'm back. I'll try to be more active now.

  • Currently banned from TCG after accumulating some stupid infractions so I'll try doing that tomorrow. I will also try to be more active but am also behind on banner requests. -NYKid

Is it just me, or has nearly every new request for the past while been invalid? What happened? Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 01:46, November 8, 2010 (UTC)

I'd just like to say, I'm glad you guys do what you do, and think that you're all pretty epic, thanks for the deck help and I'll get my mates to have a look around the page a bit as well, a couple of them can make pretty good decks so I'll try and stir up some interest for you guys. Thanks again! Peter95 (talkcontribs) 13:21, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Peter, you don't need to go getting people to join in making the decks. Thank you for your interest. Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 16:51, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Okay then, I just thought it might ease the pressure off you guys is all, I mean they can't build the same sort of decks that you guys can but they do build competetive decks, even if it is only at a local.. Oh well, thanks for the hard work guys! =D Peter95 (talkcontribs) 17:52, November 14, 2010 (UTC)

Requests posted on the redirect[edit]

Due to the "Click here to start a new request" link not being updated after the page was renamed, many people have added new requests onto the end of the redirect. You can see them here. I think that page should be blanked to just the redirect anyway. Before doing that should the requests posted there be copied over to this page? Some of them are a month old. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:19, September 14, 2011 (UTC)

That's quite unfortunate, I feel bad that nobody realized this sooner. I have done so. If you would like to blank the page or whatever it is you need to do, go ahead. Lappyzard (talkcontribs) 21:44, September 15, 2011 (UTC)

Well hello y'all.[edit]

Erm... I'm back I guess. Is anyone still running this page? Jon Kovacs (talkcontribs) 01:36, September 19, 2012 (UTC)
