Thanks, I really like the idea of Burden of the Mighty and also Hoplomos, but If I were to just run Hoplomos, how would I get to use his effect? Wouldn't it be necessary to run another G-Beast as well? Plus I'm glad to hear of Obsidion Dragon, which I might use. I was thinking of making the deck more EARTH-based by adding the Koa'ki Meirus (Sandman&Guardian) for more protection. Thanks alot!--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 14:01, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

Strat now is to play normal defensively, then all of the sudden when you attack, I slap down a Stronghold (+1500DEF) and Cross Counter (double battle damage) to mess your face up (lol on the card pic too). G-Beasts and Koa'ki Meirus are obviously toolbox side material. Funny how nowadays, people just don't seem to expect you to set defense position monsters that actually have high defenses... they seem to only expect Ryko, Tomato, and Super Nimble, etc. Battle Mania and Ojama Trio are sided for people who don't want to attack and/or just want to stall. How you guys like? Provide feedback/suggestions please. I would like to find 2 more good monster candidates to add, maybe x2 Mine Golem?

I'd main Bestiari if I were you. Gyzarus is that good. Also, what happened to Megarock, a defensive rock deck's primary win condition? Lastly, why not swap out Shrink for Half Shut, which can be used on your monsters for no negative effect?

*Man, you really helped. The only thing I'm a bit unsure about is the Half Shuts. Maybe I could side as many Shrinks as I could fit and replace them with the Half Shuts (which I haven't heard of till now), that way I could side the Shrinks in whenever I would side in my ATK oriented Koa'ki Meirus, but I need to find room in my side deck. Your other advice was enough to convince me right off the bat since I kinda forgot Megarock... Oh, and btw, how can I have an origional deck if it's already on your user page, lol ;P (and one could argue that this one is a version of the Rock Defense Deck). I understand that you like aggro, and I do too, but this is the first deck in a while that I've tried that is specifically Defense-based, and I'm mainly trying it out for a change of pace.--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 16:14, September 5, 2010 (UTC)

Latest revision as of 21:36, 5 September 2010

I'm thinking about a defensive rock deck that forces my opponent to run into my defensive monsters and exploit effects like Stone Statue of the Aztecs and Legendary Jujitsu Master, while frequently using cards like Shrink to keep doing more damage. Yeah, this seems a bit unorigional, but I always wanted to make something like this. An initial decklist of the cards I have and/or want is:

monsters:

x1 Megarock Dragon

x2 Guardian Sphinx

x3 Legendary Jujitsu Master

x3 Stone Statue of the Aztecs

x2 Golem Sentry

x2 Morphing Jar 2

x1 Gorz the Emissary of Darkness

x1 Marshmallon

x1 Neo-Spacian Grand Mole

spells:

x2 or 3 Canyon

x3 Shrink

x2 Mystical Space Typhoon

x2 Book of Moon

x2 Toll

x1 Giant Trunade

traps:

x1 Magic Cylinder

x2 Destruction Jammer

x2 Battle Mania

x2 All-Out Attacks

x2 Staunch Defender

x2 or 3 Waboku

x1 or 2 Ojama Trio

maybe:

Koa'ki Meiru Guardian

Koa'ki Meiru Sandman

Time Machine

Cross Counter

Big Bang Shot (equip to opponent's big monsters)

etc.

 • based on my understanding of the upcoming banned/restricted list.

I haven't used a Rock-themed deck in a long time, so I need help finding any new rock stuff that will fit well here. Feel free to ask questions and thanks for suggestions, help, fixes, opinions, etc.--SantaOrc26 (Talk) 02:19, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

Hello. I would personally replace Time Machine with Miracle's Wake, since it's less restricting and can work around a situation where your opponent forces your monsters into attack mode. If you like Toll, you should also look into Gravekeeper's Servant, since it forces them to mill to attack (which might actually help them, so watch out for that).

Here's a copy of my Rock Defense decklist, it seems to work pretty well. You gota use Fairy Box to max out the damage, works wonders with Aztec Statue. =] u5h3ra1i' Relished Saber Player 03:58, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

Rock Defense Deck

Monster Cards

18 Effect Monsters

Spell Cards

10

Trap Cards

15

It runs pretty well, you just gota know what to do with it. You can add in or switch in a Gladiator Beast Bestiari and Gladiator Beast Murmillo along with an Extra Deck Gladiator Beast Gyzarus for a bit more of a control aspect. Other than that, Hope I helped! =] u5h3ra1i' Relished Saber Player 03:58, August 30, 2010 (UTC)

Use Mask of Weakness/Stop Defense/Piercing Monster to use with Ojama Trio
