:Convenient for what? It's not like somebody is going to replace those cards. Very few people have them and they are either placing watermarks to sell or are not willing to spend the time uploading them. It just doesn't make any sense to convert them, I have more productive things to do. I would understand if I was uploading popular cards that are available anyway. Also if somebody really wants to change the format for lots of images, let some experienced user convert them in bulk as there is specific free software/websites for that purpose. However, thanks for the Watermark remark, I didn't know that and will definitely use it. Talk pages

Each time you post something to a talk page, always sign your posts with four tildes at the end of it, so people know who made that comment. There's even a reminder to tell you to do that above the text box.ChaosGallade (talkcontribs) 20:24, October 27, 2015 (UTC)

RE:(Token Proxy)

We always keep "proxy" images. If another, better version of the proxy card comes up in the future, we'll simply upload it over the pre-existing one. It also helps in case people want to use its legitimate artwork for things (without the foiling obscuring it). --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 17:46, March 2, 2016 (UTC)

Image file format

We prefer card images to be uploaded as PNGs, even if that means converting JPGs to PNGs. It makes it a lot easier to manage them when they're all in a consistent format. (There are quite a lot of uploaded card images that are still JPGs, but these are mostly older images that we intend to eventually replace.) --SnorlaxMonster 09:25, March 9, 2016 (UTC)

Repeating again. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 16:32, March 17, 2016 (UTC)

Let's be honest here. I am aware of the fact that editing the source code to replace the PNG file format to JPG prevents easy file management in future. However, I'm only uploading images of cards most people don't have. And those who do have them have no intentions to update any Wikia pages. I actually purchase foreign language cards that are missing in the galleries with the sole intention to upload them here. So if nobody had added those missing foreign language cards since their release up until now, I doubt anyone else ever will.

Any card that I own is scanned with high resolution to a PNG file. Unfortunately some of the cards exist online only in JPG format and converting them to another format takes unnecessary time. And most definitely I am not planning to buy any cards that already have a scanned image available no matter the format. And even if for some reason there is be somebody who wants to replace the images I upload (very unlikely), editing the source code will take them less effort than it will take me to convert the files.

Thanks for your input but there is something more helpful for my cause that you could do. Since I don't have enough time to do it all myself, could you let me know which common/rare foreign language cards are missing in the galleries so I can purchase some of them and upload their scans? I don't know if there is a tool that lets you make a search of such criteria. If you can somehow help me with that I can use that saved time to actually convert JPG images to PNG as you asked for mutual benefit. Fensterhoff (talkcontribs) 18:54, March 17, 2016 (UTC)

Yes, we are actually in the process of downloading .jpg card images on this site and re-uploading them as .png files, before deleting the .jpg versions. Are you sure you don't mind? Because this would mean that your contributions don't get recognized, as they will be deleted and another user would be recognized for uploading the .png versions...
In any case, there are some galleries that we'd like to be filled: Set Card Galleries:Duelist Legacy Volume.5 (OCG-JP) and the 4 1st Edition Spanish Starter Deck card galleries (which has a convenient ebay listing here). Also, the Korean Advanced Event Packs, like Advanced Event Pack 2014 Vol.1. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 21:21, March 17, 2016 (UTC)
I am not in this for the recognition. I don't even know what is its point. Will somebody give me special administrative rights and tools to help me save time while I continue to add missing content? Because that is the only benefit I might be interested in - to save time that I can use it to add more content. If such privileges do exist and I can earn them, please let me know.
Thanks for the eBay listing but firstly, I live in Europe so shipping from USA is more expensive than if I order over here (shipping for that listing will actually cost me more than the item itself). Secondly, any online website except the European CardMarket has foreign language cards overpriced so I am going to stick to the aforementioned instead. By foreign language I mean languages in the TCG that are not English. I do have access to most Japanese cards but right now I can't afford to pay for expensive shipping services, so currently I will not be able to provide scans of OCG cards.
As I already mentioned I would greatly appreciate if I could find which foreign language TCG cards are missing. I will occasionally purchase English language cards if they are not available anywhere online, but most of them are out there so anyone with some free time to spare can do the job instead. Thanks for the links (I will be getting cards from the Spanish Starter Decks) but I need to know all the sets with partial missing content, is there an automatic way to find them out without having to go through each manually? The only privileges admins have over other users is that they can delete pages, restore deleted pages, and block/unblock users. There are 2 separate usergroups with privileges to rename pages and revert edits from users with 1 click, "movers" and "rollbackers" respectively. Of these, only the mover privilege sounds vaguely useful for you, so I'll grant that. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 23:42, March 17, 2016 (UTC)

If you are uploading pics from sites like tcgshop, you could change them to PNG. You just need to open them in Paint and save them as PNG. I know you're going to say it's a waste of time. But, to people like me, who has re-uploaded several pics as PNG, it would be really convenient.
Besides, if they are watermarked, use {{Watermark}}. Thanks. Becasita Pendulum (talkcontribs) 19:49, April 10, 2016 (UTC)

Convenient for people like me who will probably re-upload the pics as PNG.
It's preferable to have all the card scans in PNG. So you just need to make a small effort to upload the pics (whether you scanned them yourself, or downloaded them from a site) as PNG.
And since, in this EP1 particular case, you are just copying files from another place, people like me could do the same and upload them as PNG. So if I (or anyone) ends up re-uploading these pics as PNG, that means your work was in vain; meaning it was, indeed, a waste of time. While if you had uploaded them as PNG in the first place, sure, you had lost more time at that point, but, in the end, your work would have been worth it.
