- This card can be searched by "Single Purchase", "Temple of the Kings", "Painful Escape", "Sangan", "Downbeat", "Ties of the Brethren", "Number 29: Mannequin Cat", "Rescue Ferret", "Transmodify", "Broken Blocker", "Soul Rope", "Resonator Engine", "Vampire Dragon", "Summoner Monk", "Dragunity Corsesca", "Giant Rat", "BOXer", "Frontline Observer", "Machina Armored Unit", "Geargiauger", "Biofalcon", "UFOroid", "Gear Gigant X", and "Heavy Armored Train Ironwolf".
- This card has the highest DEF for a Level 4 monster without any negative effects.
- You can also use "Unstable Evolution" to increase this monster's original ATK to 2400, use "Megamorph", then use "Limiter Removal" for 9600 ATK, enough for an OTK, and or add "Fighting Spirit.
- This monster works well in Rock Decks, since they rely on high DEF monsters. Also, its effect to attack directly makes it useful. However, you should use something to change it back to Defense Position.
- This card would work well with "Super Crashbug", as it will be become a Level 4 2200 monster that (for only 800 Life Points) can attack your opponent directly.
- You can use "Inverse Universe" to permanently change this card's ATK to 2200. This combo can be deadly if "Gear Golem" is also equipped with "Tyrant Burst Dragon".
- After attacking directly, equip this card with "Spirit Burner" so you can switch it to Defense mode.
Traditional Format
- This card can be searched by "Last Will".
- If you have 2 "Gear Golem the Moving Fortresses" on your side of the field, follow these steps:
- Use "Shield & Sword", "Inverse Universe" or "Weapon Change" giving each "Gear Golem", 2200 ATK.
- Use "Limiter Removal". Now you only need to pay 800 Life Points to do 4400 damage to your opponent.
- Tip 1: Use "Heavy Storm" first, to remove threats such as "Mirror Force", "Magic Cylinder", "Sakuretsu Armor" etc.
- Tip 2: Use "D2 Shield" to boost its DEF to 4400, then use "Inverse Universe" to swap its ATK with its now 4400 DEF, activate "Trap Stun", pay the 800, attack, and activate "Limiter Removal" for 8800 direct attack damage with just one monster.
- You can pay 700 Life Points and use "Weapon Change" to quickly inflict 2200 direct damage for just the cost of 800 Life Points.
