Advanced Format

• This card can be searched via "Sangan", "Mystic Tomato", "Reinforcement of the Army", "Field-Commander Rahz", "Freed the Matchless General", "Elemental Hero Stratos", "Soul Rope", "Destiny Signal", and "Dark General Freed".

• "Convulsion of Nature" will show you when a Spell card is on top of your Deck. Combine this with "Card Trader". You'll not only see the top card of your deck, but you'll be able to re-shuffle your deck if you want to try to get a Normal Spell Card onto the top of your deck to be used for Diamond Dude's effect (and you'll be able to return the unusable Normal Spell cards to the deck as well).

• Since costs and activation requirements are not paid, or do not have to be met, using cards such as "Destiny Draw" or "Magical Stone Excavation" or "The Beginning of the End" will get you free cards. "Primal Seed" also works, even without either of "Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning" or "Chaos Emperor Dragon - Envoy of the End" in your Deck.

• Also, you can activate the effects of most monster-specific and cost-effective cards:

• "Ojama Delta Hurricane!!" without the "Ojamas"
• "Wrath of Neos" without "Elemental Hero Neos"
• "Des Croaking" without the Des Frogs
• "Short Circuit" without Batterymen
• "Mega Ton Magical Cannon" with no Spell Counters
• "Dark Magic Attack" and "Thousand Knives" without "Dark Magician"
• "Bonding - H2O" without "Oxygeddon" and "Hydrogeddons"
• "Burst Stream of Destruction" without "Blue-Eyes White Dragon"
• "Earthbound Whirlwind" without an Earthbound Immortal
• "Crystal Abundance" without sending 4 Crystal Beasts to the Graveyard
• "Pot of Duality" and still able to special summon that turn

• "Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude" works well with "Plaguespreader Zombie" and "Raiza the Storm Monarch".

• Use with "Pot of Benevolence" to keep recycling your Normal Spell Cards. If "Pot of Benevolence" is sent to the graveyard by "Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude", it will not be removed from play as it is already in the graveyard. This also means you can even recycle "Pot of Benevolence" with its own effect.

• "Big Eye" can help you get the cards you want on top of your deck.

• "Shooting Star Bow - Ceal" and "Heart of Clear Water" can be used to keep this card on the field and having a 400 direct damage each turn.

• A word of note: Diamond Dude WILL NOT activate spells in such a way that spell counters will be generated. The wording on "Destiny Hero - Diamond Dude" says that "you can activate its effect", which does not mean the same thing as regular "activate". In simple terms, the effect, NOT THE CARD (which is required for spell counter generation given the current cards) will be activated. (Then again, you don't pay costs or need to fulfill requirements on the cards that you can activate.)

• Use practical normal spells with a cost/activation requirement that's possible to fulfill in your deck, like "Lightning Vortex" so that you do not get stuck if you draw them. For example, "Destiny Draw" is a better choice over "The Beginning of the End" due to being easily usable without this card's effect. You can also use "A Feather of the Phoenix" or "Pigeonholing Books of Spell" to make getting this effect easier.
  • "Summoner Monk" can help you discard a spell should you draw a normal spell at a bad time, like "Magical Stone Excavation", while letting you get another copy of this card.

• Combine with "Plaguespreader Zombie" to place dead draw spells on top of your deck before you use it's effect.
