No. Trap Hole and Bottomless Trap Hole do not negate the summon. However, Solemn Judgment and Horn of Heaven (Or Black Horn of Heaven if he was Special Summoned) do negate the summon, and these remain the only Trap Cards you can use against the summoning of a Jinzo.

Trap hole and bottomless doesn't negate his summon, but they do destroy him.  So how is his effect still working?  The trap card's effect should be able to destroy Jinzo before his effect is actived because he is the slowest spell speed.  So prior to his effect's activation (spell speed one), a player plays trap hole, so according to the rule book, the last card in the chain resolves first (trap hole, then jinzo's effect).

:I actually reread a couple of episodes in the first season as well as the Duel between Espa and Joey. Machines are unaffected by magical attacks as shown in Joey's Duel with Bandit Keith. They appear to be immune to the effects of Spells if the said effects destroy monsters. Any Spell Card that affects their ATK/DEF will affect them regardless. Effects that can be considered magical vary for Machines as with the case with "Time Wizard". It appears that most Machine-type monsters can be affected by the effect of "Time Wizard", but some Machines like "Jinzo" are unaffected by it under certain circumstances. I already placed the suggestion Cheesedude said onto the card appearances page of "Jinzo", so no need to worry about that.Cardsknower (talk contribs) 22:43, September 13, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Skill Drain
if Skill Drain is already face up on the field, and Jinzo is then summoned, will Jinzo negate Skill Drain's effect, or will Skill Drain negate Jinzo's ability?

* Skill Drain negates Jinzo's effect - since Skill Drain was already active, its effect takes precedence, negating Jinzo's. --Darth Covah 23:37, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

it depends on whatever card is activated 1st. in this case since it was skill drain, it will negate jinzo--Mr.Archfreak 23:43, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

What if you active skill drain WHEN your opponent summons Jinzo?  Now who's effect is first? Because Skill Drain doesn't negate the summon but it does negate the effect.

Jinzo being immune to Time Wizard's effect in the anime[edit]

Should I place the immunity this card has against the effect of "Time Wizard" here as an effect or not? The anime explains that the armor of "Jinzo" can't age or corrode for many years which explains why it was unaffected by the effect of "Time Wizard". The effect of "Time Wizard" did affect "Barrel Dragon", a Machine, however, as shown in Joey's Duel with Bandit Keith. I need to figure out if this should be placed in a page or not.Cardsknower (talkcontribs) 00:32, September 13, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

I doubt its part of the lore. It's just an extension of "machines can't be affected by magic", which was inconsistently applied, as you pointed out yourself. I think noting on the card appearances and episode pages suffice. Cheesedude (talkcontribs) 00:37, September 13, 2012 (UTC)
