"Witchcraft" (ウィッチクラフト Wicchikurafuto) is an archetype introduced in Deck Build Pack: Infinity Chasers. It is described as being a "Spellcaster theme that uses in-hand Spell Cards to employ various effects."[1]
Etymology
"Witchcraft" monsters seem to be named after words in other languages related to artisan crafts. Also the "craft" in "Witchcraft" refers to the fact that they are craftsmen.
Witchcraft | Origin |
---|---|
Poterie | Pottery in French |
Pittore | Painter in Italian |
Schmitta | Blacksmith in German (Schmied) |
Edel | Gemstone in German (Edelstein) |
Haine | Clothing in Romanian |
Madame Verre | Glass in French |
Golem Arles | Golem and Arles, a famous French city known for sculpture, painting, drawing, and photography |
Playing style
Their effects resolve around discarding Spell Cards to activate their effects.
