| A = In this scenario, when the effect of Forbidden Lance is applied, "[[Psychic Lifetrancer]]" loses 800 ATK and becomes unaffected by Spell/Trap effects, until the end of this turn. Since "[[Psychic Lifetrancer]]" now has 1600 ATK, you then lose 1600 LP due to the effect of "[[Psychic Implosion]]", but since "[[Psychic Lifetrancer]]" is now unaffected by its effect, its ATK will not be doubled. Even in this case, since "[[Psychic Implosion]]" was activated, the targeted "[[Psychic Lifetrancer]]" cannot attack directly this turn.

OCG Rulings

  • This card targets 1 face-up monster in your Monster Zone.[1]
  • If you activate this card during the Damage Step, it must be at the start of the Damage Step or before damage calculation.[1]
  • Losing LP and doubling the targeted monster's ATK happen simultaneously.[1]
  • You cannot target a monster with ATK higher than your LP.[1]
  • You cannot target a monster that has declared a direct attack this turn.[1]

Q&A Rulings

A: In this scenario, when the effect of Forbidden Lance is applied, "Psychic Lifetrancer" loses 800 ATK and becomes unaffected by Spell/Trap effects, until the end of this turn. Since "Psychic Lifetrancer" now has 1600 ATK, you then lose 1600 LP due to the effect of "Psychic Fervor", but since "Psychic Lifetrancer" is now unaffected by its effect, its ATK will not be doubled. Even in this case, since "Psychic Fervor" was activated, the targeted "Psychic Lifetrancer" cannot attack directly this turn.[2][3]
