  • The easiest method of Summoning this card from the Extra Deck is by Normal Summoning "Debris Dragon" from your hand and using its effect to Special Summon "Golem Dragon" from your Graveyard.
  • Special Summon "Totem Dragon", then Normal Summon "Star Bright Dragon" and raise "Totem" to Level 4, then Xyz Summon this card. This will allow you to reuse the effect of "Totem Dragon".
  • Use "Summoner Monk" to Special Summon "Armageddon Knight". Use the effect of "Knight" to dump a high-Level DARK Dragon to the Graveyard, then Overlay for this card and use its effect to revive that Dragon.
    • This combo can work ideally with cards like "Darkflare Dragon" since you can still use "Darkflare" to send Dragon monsters from your Deck and hand to the Graveyard, but not banish anything.
  • Pairing the first effect of this card with the effect of "King Dragun", provides Dragon-type monsters you control with protection from Spells, Traps, and Monster effects that target as well as battle protection.
  • Since this card's first effect is a Continuous Effect, it can be revived by "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" to provide numerous turns of battle protection.
  • Because this card prevents other Dragons you control from being destroyed by battle, "Golem Dragon" provides a safety lock, similar to the lock provided by "Marauding Captain" or "Command Knight".
  • There are ways to bypass the effect negation this card places on its revival target. For example, if you Summon "Lightpulsar Dragon" and later get it to the Graveyard in some way, the effect of "Lightpulsar Dragon" will activate since it's activated in the Graveyard and not the field, giving you a free high-Level Dragon.
