- This card can be searched by "A Cat of Ill Omen" and "The Despair Uranus".
- "Call of the Haunted" usually outclasses this card, but this card can be very useful if you Summon a monster that benefits from being destroyed specifically by a card effect:
- Special Summon "Yubel" during your opponent's turn with this card, then switch "Yubel" to Defense Position on your turn to easily Special Summon "Yubel - Terror Incarnate".
- Use this card to Special Summon "Vennominon the King of Poisonous Snakes" during your opponent's turn. During your turn, switch it to Defense Position to destroy it, allowing you to activate "Rise of the Snake Deity" and Special Summon "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes".
- Special Summon "Poison Draw Frog" or "Vortex Trooper", then later switch it to Defense mode for a free draw. Use "Dupe Frog" instead and you can get a "Frog" monster back from your Graveyard.
- This card works fabulously in a "Mokey Mokey" Deck. If a "Mokey Mokey" is in your hand and "Mokey Mokey Smackdown" is on the field, use this card to Special Summon "Mokey Mokey King" during your opponent's End Phase. Summon the "Mokey Mokey" and switch the "Mokey Mokey King" to Defense Mode, triggering "Mokey Mokey Smackdown". If the other "Mokey Mokey" are in your Graveyard, the resulting swarm can lead to a OTK.
Traditional Format
- "Sangan" can be revived during your opponent's End Phase and changed in position during the following turn to search out a monster from your Deck.
