- If you activate "DNA Transplant" you can Tribute this card to destroy a monster your opponent controls and add an "Ice Barrier" monster from your Deck to your hand. This means good card advantage.
- Use this card with Double Summon or Ultimate Offering. You can summon many Defying Troops of the Ice Barrier in one turn, and destroy many of your opponent's monsters.
- Use this card with Oyster Meister to offset the card loss. If the monster retrieved by Defying Troops of the Ice Barrier requires a Tribute, the Oyster Token can be used for it as well.
