- This card was the last of the 3 infamous Chaos monsters to be set as Forbidden in Advanced Format. Also, this card was in the Unlimited Status until the September 2006 list when it was put as Forbidden.
- It returned on the March 2009 Lists, where it was Limited, which gave rise to the Twilight decks and in September 2009, it became Semi-Limited. However, it returned to the Limited list in March 2010 and once again Semi-Limited in September 2010. It finally returned to Unlimited for the March 2011 format, for the first time since 2006.
- This card is one of only five cards to have been Forbidden in the past but is now Unlimited. The other four are "Injection Fairy Lily", "United We Stand", "Call of the Haunted" and "Breaker the Magical Warrior".
- This card was nicknamed "the poor man's Chaos" due to its common rarity, as opposed being secret rare like the Envoys.
- This card's appearance is based off of "Dark Magician of Chaos" and "Magician of Black Chaos".
- This card is one of ten cards to have gone instantly from Unlimited to Forbidden. It was preceded by "Time Seal" and "Victory Dragon", and followed by "Cyber-Stein", "Dark Strike Fighter", "Substitoad", "Mass Driver", "Glow-Up Bulb", "Fishborg Blaster", and "Spore".
