- This card works well with "Interdimensional Matter Transporter".
- This card can be searched by "Sangan", "Super-Nimble Mega Hamster" and "Giant Rat".
- You can remove him from your deck by using "Gold Sarcophagus" allowing you to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Beast-Type monster from your Graveyard. This works well in an "X-Saber" deck since you can Special Summon "XX-Saber Darksoul" or "X-Saber Airbellum".
- After, use Unicorn Beacon, remove this card, then you can Special Summon from the Graveyard and the Banished Zone.
- Use cards like "Necroface" and "Burial from a Different Dimension " to return this card so that it can be reused.
- This card can be brought back from the remove from play zone with "Elephun". When "Elephun" is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can select "Dark Desertapir" removed from play, and add it to your hand.
- Use cards like "Future Visions", "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" and "Different Dimension Gate" to remove from play this card face-up on the field in order to use its effect.
- When this face-up card is attacked, you can activate "Slip of Fortune" to remove this card from play, negate the attack and use the "Dark Desertapir's" effect to Special Summon a level 4 or lower Beast-type monster from your Graveyard, so during your Standby Phase, you will have "Dark Desertapir" back to the field and the Special Summoned monster.
