  • So I was at a totally casual tournament, $5 and 2 hours of fun, casual, dueling. The way it works is, the round listings are printed up on this piece of paper, you see who you're dueling and you have a 30-45 min. duel and after the time is up, they post the next round. Fun, right? Wrong. It's my first duel, I battle this guy. Let's call him...<3less. Anyway, <3less pulls his deck out of it's Super Rare Super Awesome Chocolatey-fudge-coated Mega Super Deck case and lo and behold, it's a FROG FTK DECK!!!!!! WTF?!?!?!?!? This is supposed to be a casual tournament and <3less brings a Frog FTK Deck? there is absolutely no prize support based on how well you do, so why waste $5 so you can beat 4 people at yugioh? Has any one else had a similar experience? i'm just venting after this.Jaffacakes42

There's always someone who is stuck on the "competitive" mindset, and would just bring their top-tier deck into a casual tournament for the objective of winning at all costs. --Gadjiltron (talkcontribs) 09:05, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

If the tournament says "for non 'Competitive' decks only" then I'll assume that this tourny won't be actually too challenging because you're dueling decks that can't fully measure how strong or effective your own deck against the hailed decks. Yes, I feel your pain. Someone just have to bring a FROG FTK deck when you're just testing your deck out. --SilentHero26 (talkcontribs) 12:31, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

Some people are just jackasses. There were some people like that that ran first tier decks in my area at not even tourneys. So you have people that are barely a year into the game getting whomped by Lightsworm Tele-Dad and Zombies. They kicked our asses regularly till we got better and started anticapting what would get hit in their decks before it did and eventually began to smoke them as they were stuck with failing decks. 68.40.106.199 (talk) 06:26, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Theres people that play for fun, people who play for profit and winning only, and then theres the last kinda people who play liek a madman with no manners yelling shouting/cussing and acts like the game is life or death(god i hate dealing with them people)and if they lose they throw a fit, thekeypoint in a tournamanet is usually returning local duelists but there will be newcomers who just wanna slam down the competition.--Raventheblack (talkcontribs) 23:33, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

High Five! Man my point in the card game is just to play the card game for fun. Yugioh GX already prove my point. Who plays the card game for winning? You make it look like a sport, which is what it's not suppose to be. It's suppose to be a card game that everyone wants to play. I bet some of the reason why people quit Yugioh is because of them. But then again, I should thank them because otherwise the prices would skyrocket for them. Fallensilence (talkcontribs) 02:52, October 5, 2010 (UTC)

I can't say I blame you, many people at my local cardshop are assholes & i never talk to them. However there are people who are really nice & i have gotten along with them quite well. Local tourneys i rarely play, neither in sanctioned upper division tournaments. Many players at that level are real assholes & i can't stand playing them. They bug your for the most ridiculous crap. I had a duelist one time report to a judge because my deck mat was all white with no print. WTF!? I got a warning & i was being watched for the rest of match. Don't put yourself through the pain that i went through, if tournaments are what u like by all means go. Automation44 (talkcontribs) 04:38, October 5, 2010 (UTC)Automation44
