Card Trivia:Double Iris Magician
- This monster is the "Magician" form of "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon".
- Its clothing is heavily based on the dragon's appearance.
- Its Pendulum Effect that doubles battle damage is a reference to the monster effect of "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon".
- Its monster effect that retrieves a "Pendulumgraph" card is reference to the Pendulum Effect of "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" that retrieves a Pendulum Monster.
- Its name is a reference to "Sky Iris", a Field Spell Card that depicts "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" in its artwork (and supports "Odd-Eyes" cards).
- This card's overall design seems to be based on, or at least influenced by, the recurring Red Mage class from the Final Fantasy series.
- Beyond the obvious red coloration, Double Iris Magician also wields a sword; the Red Mage class is usually able to wield some form of sword in most final fantasy games.
- In addition to this, a less tenious link is that Red mages famously use a combination of both White and Black magic. This could be likened to both Double Iris's two eye colors(and double-colored blade on the sword), and it's overall duel nature, possessing an offensive pendulum ability(Black Magic) and a more defensive/supportive monster ability(White Magic)
- It's fairly modest stats could also be associated with the Red Mage which has fairly balanced stats, but doesn't strongly excel in any particular form of combat.
