OCG Rulings
- This effect is a Trigger Effect, which must be activated in the GY.[1]
- Activating this effect is mandatory. (Activating it is not optional.)[1]
- It also activates during the Damage Step.[1]
- When this card is discarded from your hand by an opponent's effect, if you choose to Special Summon a monster from your opponent's Graveyard, then the effect activates and targets. If you choose to not Special Summon, then the effect activates but does not target.[1]
- When this card's effect resolves, "add 1 "Dark World" card from your Deck to your hand" is resolved first. After that, if a target was chosen, "Special Summon that target (if any) in Defense Position" is resolved next. (These effects are applied sequentially.)[1]
